Well for starters, holy shit. This movie is a phenomenal psychological experience, so many times throughout the movie I was wondering to myself if what I was watching was real or not.
Even by the time the movie had ended I was still questioning things. I feel like one of the best aspects of this movie is the fact you can interpret it however you want, the ending is clear but can be viewed in different ways, I feel as though there is no "proper" ending.

Also I loved the art style and animation, it has that charm of being an anime from the 90s and you can tell how much time and care was put into animating it.
It's a beautiful depiction of how harsh the entertainment industry can be, I will always love series that dive into this side of things.
The music was also really good and overall I think I'd give the movie a 9.5/10. This is one I'll definitely have to rewatch at some point, and I think it could definitely be considered a 10/10 for me on a 2nd watch.

I initially didn't have any plans to watch The Ramparts of Ice until I saw it was from the same creator as You And I Are Polar Opposites which is an anime I really enjoyed watching while it was airing. And thank goodness I decided to watch it because it is exactly what I look for in a drama/romance anime. It kind of reminds me of Skip and Loafer which is another anime I absolutely adore.

The art style is virtually the same as You And I Are Polar Opposites, however it uses a much more natural color palette as opposed to the bright and colorful palette of You And I Are Polar Opposites. I absolutely love how the art style looks, I find it to be quite unique which helps it separate itself from other series within the same genre. I can pretty much say the same thing about Skip and Loafer, so this is one area I find them to be similar. As for the animation I think it looks great. Never once did I find anything I'd complain about, and in general I couldn't really ask for much more when it comes to animation of romance/slice of life anime. I also really loved how they incorporated the chibi style into the episodes, I thought it was really cute.
When it comes to the romance/drama side of things, The Ramparts of Ice does it so well because it knows it can be hard to understand your own feelings. What separates someone from just being a friend vs being a romantic interest? Another reason it does such a good job of this is because of how it uses different perspectives of the characters to portray its themes. The Ramparts of Ice knows it's important to show how past relationships or interactions can shape how you view others. Sometimes you may love someone without even realizing it yourself. On the drama side of things, it doesn't really do anything revolutionary, it's pretty basic drama, however it's executed so well due to the things I previously mentioned along with it's characters.
And speaking of the characters, that's where The Ramparts of Ice really shines for me. I absolutely love the main character in Koyuki Hikawa, I find her to be very relatable, and I often connect to her thought processes. But even with that being said The Ramparts of Ice spends a lot of time expanding on it's other characters which is another area it reminds of Skip and Loafer. Yota, Minato and Miki are all treated with equal importance to Koyuki. The things I talked about before when it comes to romance wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for how much depth each of the 4 main characters are given. Throughout these 14 episodes a few of them hardly even featured Koyuki because they took the time to make you care about Yota, Minato and Miki.
This also directly ties into the story. While at it's core the story is following Koyuki as she slowly breaks out her shell and becomes less isolated, it's also about how each of the other characters contribute to Koyuki's development while also dealing with their own personal issues. Nobody in this anime is perfect, and the story explores how they work through their imperfections. As someone who values characters the most when it comes to what's important to me in anime, I absolutely love when a story prioritizes it's characters like it does in The Ramparts of Ice.
I also found this anime to be subtlety pretty funny, it's also extremely adorable with how it handles it's character interactions. The music is also peak, the opening is great and the ending theme is phenomenal, especially with the way it fades in as the episode is ending. (Although it sucked to know the episode was over the moment you heard the ending start playing lol)
I am very emotionally invested in this series, I highly recommend this anime if you enjoyed something like Skip and Loafer or if you just hold the same importance of characters that I do.
The Ramparts of Ice is easily a 10/10 for me. It quickly jumped up into my top 10 anime of all time, and I could not have been happier when I saw the news of a new season coming in October of this year.
2026 is the year of Kocha Agasawa, and I'm absolutely here for it! I really hope she continues making more stories because currently she's 2 for 2.

I Want to End This Love Game is an anime that grew on me more and more with each episode. A fun premise that I imagine is similar to that of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, although I haven't seen it so I can't say for certain.

The art style is simple but looks nice, and the same can be said for the character designs. However on the animation side of things it really wasn't very good. You can tell there wasn't a very big budget for this anime, while the animation wasn't exactly horrible it definitely has it's rough moments, especially with its use of CGI. However with that being said, animation is not exactly the most important thing when it comes to romance/slice of life series so I can generally overlook it for I Want to End This Love Game.
When it comes to the romance element of this anime, I thought it was extremely adorable. I will say from time to time it was a bit cringe and gave me second hand embarrassment while watching, but it came off in a funny and entertaining way as opposed to being uncomfortable to watch. Specifically because there's times where Miku and Yukiya would be overly flirty while playing the love game and someone would catch them in the middle of it, which again was a little embarrassing but also very funny.
As for the characters I really liked Miku and Yukiya, and the way they interacted with each other was really cute too. The side characters were also enjoyable additions in my opinion, the little side story Kazane and Kakeru was interesting, and I really loved Wakana's contribution to the story even if it was pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. When it comes to the story/love game itself I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I do hope if we ever get a season 2 the game doesn't get dragged on too long, especially with how season 1 ended.
Also have to mention how much I love the opening and ending songs, they fit the vibe of this anime so well.
With all that being said, I'd give I Want to End This Love Game an 8.5/10. While the production quality wasn't great, it made up for it by being cute, adorable and funny. Would definitely recommend giving this one a watch.

Lord of Mysteries returned for only a brief period, but it reminded me of how much I enjoyed watching season 1 back when it was airing. These 3 episodes felt like they went by so quick, and the quality was as good as I remember.

sore thumb. The action scenes were fantastic and it's always cool to see all the different ways the different characters fight considering just how many different pathways there are.
I also really love how these episodes expanded on the characters in the Tarot Club, and how it also is growing in numbers adding on more characters. I look forward to seeing who else ends up joining and getting to see the already present characters expanded on even further.
When it comes to the story, I found Lord of Mysteries to be confusing at times while watching in season 1, however these 3 OVA episodes were pretty straightforward. I was really invested everything that was going on and it's got me really excited for season 2. I'll probably have to do a rewatch of season 1 sometime before season 2 comes out though.
I have to mention how amazing the music is too, it sets the tone perfectly depending on the situation happening within the show. And I couldn't be happier these episodes brought back that majestic ass ending song from season 1.
Overall these 3 OVA episodes served as a great bridge from season 1 heading into season 2. Easily a 9/10 in my opinion.

I only started watching Wistoria a couple days ago, I quite enjoyed season 1 but season 2 honestly was just not as good. Wistoria kind of feels like a high fantasy Solo Leveling, however Solo Leveling was just simply more entertaining. Wistoria is mainly something you'd watch for the action, it's characters aren't particularly memorable and the story is about as mediocre as it gets.

the animation it was good but inconsistent. There was a lot of still panning shots, but in it's defense the animation was very good when it needed to be. I can't say for certain but it did feel like the animation was a bit better in season 1, still good regardless.
The action scenes were good as always, but I will say they weren't as entertaining as they were in season 1, and a lot of that comes down to how it was tied into the story. Even back in season 1 I didn't think the story was all that great, but in season 2 it was getting almost a little unbearable with how many damn tropes are jammed into it. I am honestly amazed the author even found a way to write so many tropes into the story. It gets to a point where you can basically predict who's going to say what, and the dialogue genuinely felt so cringe and embarrassing.
Also it feels like things happen with no rhyme or reason anymore. I'm not one to care much about power scaling, but when it's as inconsistent as it is in Wistoria it's a massive hindrance to my enjoyment of the series. Also without spoiling there's just certain characters who should not be alive and we get no explanation of how they survived (unless I missed something). Not to mention I don't think we ever get an explanation for why the villains are doing the stuff they do, now based on how the season ended maybe we will get the answer in season 3, but still it just feels like they are simply there cause the plot needs a reason for Will to get stronger somehow.
And speaking of Will getting stronger, there's really no explanation for it. It's just one second he's getting his ass beat and the next second he's significantly stronger and is now the one beating ass. I mean yeah it's kinda fun to watch if you don't care about anything beyond the fights but I can't sit here and act like I wasn't more confused than anything while watching this show. More often than not I'd just be like "well that didn't make any sense."
When it comes to the characters they also fall victim to just being very tropey. I have a mostly neutral opinion on the characters as a whole, but when I do tend to feel something towards a character it's more often going to be a slightly negative opinion. Just about 95% of the characters in this show are annoyingly discriminative towards people who can't use magic. This causes the story to feel unbelievably repetitive because any time Will makes some form of progress there's just someone there to hate on him and we gotta wait for him to prove himself just so he can take another step forward. It's so rinse and repeat of the same thing over and over again, it's getting boring. Also Elfaria is annoying as fuck, she's basically done nothing the whole series and she likes to whine and cry a lot, there's really nothing to like about her as of now.
Overall season 2 just lost the enjoyment season 1 had for me personally. I hope it'll be better in season 3 but if I'm being honest my hopes aren't very high. This season was like a 6/10 for me, it was about as fine/okay as it gets.

Right out of the gates I might as well put it out there that this anime clearly isn't going to be for everyone. It didn't get the Avant Garde tag for no reason, unconventional doesn't even begin to describe Needy Girl Overdose. But not only that, the themes of drug abuse and sexual assault among other things are generally not suited for everyone either. But regardless I can still say I enjoyed this anime.

and the characters had great designs. But where it really stood out was how it was animated. Honestly it was kind of hard for me to decide what to even rate the animation because Needy Girl Overdose used so many different styles of animation and even mixed in real life footage. There's not too many anime I've seen that used so many different styles of animation along with irl shots, I personally really liked it though and I think I'd like to see more anime experiment with stuff like that.
Another part of Needy Girl Overdose that I gravitated towards was the themes. As I mentioned before it deals with things like drug abuse and sexual assault. As I was watching the earlier episodes it reminded me of Oshi No Ko which is an anime I love a lot. I personally enjoy when an anime is willing to deal with themes and topics that aren't as commonly explored, not to mention I think Needy Girl Overdose did a pretty good job at representing how these themes have an effect on people.
When it comes to the characters, they aren't necessarily anything special, but they were still good characters in my opinion. I found myself pretty fascinated with each of their stories/backgrounds, but I do wish they were expanded on a little more. I also really liked how Needy Girl Overdose depicted the characters that struggled with mental health issues, I found it to be quite uncomfortable and unsettling (in a good way) to watch sometimes.
As for the story, this is where the anime becomes controversial. As I mentioned at the beginning, unconventional doesn't even begin to describe how Needy Girl Overdose tells its story. It's pretty chaotic and all over the place, it can even be hard to follow whatever is going on, sometimes you even have to ask yourself what it is you're even watching. And while that is absolutely going to turn people away from this anime (which I completely understand), I found it very fascinating and it's the reason why I looked forward to seeing what would occur in the next episode. I also enjoyed how the final 2 episodes played out, it didn't go how I expected (not that I really knew what to expect lol), but I really enjoyed the messaging in the end and I feel it kind of tied all the confusing pieces together in a sense.
It's also worth briefly mentioning that I very much enjoyed the music in the show as well. I really loved the opening theme visually and the song itself. The ending theme was also nice, and the insert songs were good too.
Overall I'd give Needy Girl Overdose an 8/10. It was a really unique and enjoyable experience, but I also understand it's not going to be for everyone.

Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku was a very hyped up romance anime this season, but if I'm being honest it really didn't do anything for me. I don't think it was bad, and I can see why people would really like it, but in short it just wasn't for me.

The art generally looks pretty good, don't really have anything bad to say about it. The animation was also quite good too, when it comes to romance/slice of life anime there isn't really a need for spectacular animation but I'll always appreciate when it's done well.
My personal issues with Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku really stem from the romance side of things. For starters I do not particularly enjoy non-monogamous relationship dynamics. There's nothing really wrong with them as long as everyone in said relationship is okay with it but it's just not my preference.
I'd honestly have much preferred if this anime was focused more on Seo and Amane having a relationship as opposed to the throuple thing they've got going on. And that's not to say I don't like Ijichi but I just think the dynamic between Seo and Amane is better. I think it's also worth pointing out that there really isn't much progression throughout the story, they constantly tip toe around their feelings and never are honest with themselves which was a little annoying.
As for the characters, they were just fine. I found Amane and Ijichi to be somewhat interesting, and as for Seo although I wouldn't say I disliked him, he was overwhelmingly awkward which was irritating at times. As for the side characters, there weren't really too many of them, but I guess I did relatively enjoy the episodes with Amane and Ijichi's siblings.
The story is about as generic as it gets, loner/otaku somehow manages to get the attention of the most popular/pretty girl(s) in the class/school and from there they become friends. Nothing inherently wrong with the simple plot line, but if you're going to go the generic route for the story I'd prefer if you do something to separate yourself from the pack, and Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku didn't do that for me.
Overall I can definitely see why people would enjoy this anime, it really just comes down to whether you like the characters and their relationship dynamic, but if you're looking for something that sets itself apart from other romance anime I wouldn't exactly say this is it.
Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku is a 5.5/10 in my opinion, borderline 6/10. Not bad by any means but just not for me.

When I first heard about I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class I was honestly expected a very generic and average romance anime due to the title, but it ended up being much more than that.

Visually I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class is quite beautiful, and the animation is good. It's not my favorite anime ever in terms of visuals but I don't dislike them at all either. It's relatively simple and colorful, it gets the job done.
Where I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class really excels though is with its characters and romance elements. The 2 main characters in Maki and Umi have quite a lot of depth, there's so much more to them than how they initially appear early on. I also really love how they confront their feelings, they don't dance around the subject for 3 seasons before finally admitting their feelings for each other, it's made clear pretty quickly.
When it comes to the side characters they are also quite interesting. They've got a great dynamic with the main characters and I feel like the story leaves room for them to be expanded on more in further seasons. I'd personally love to see the story follow Yuu for a bit as she finds a romantic partner as well. Also I think it's worth mentioning that Nitta was really a bright spot in terms of comedy for this anime.
And speaking of the story, it's pretty straightforward, I mean the title essentially describes what happens lol. However it comes across as natural, things don't feel forced or uncomfortable and I think that is extremely important for any romance anime.
Overall, I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class was a very enjoyable romance anime in my opinion, it has great characters, a naturally developing romance and good visuals to go along with it. I'd give it a 9/10, I really hope we get more seasons in the near future.

Witch Hat Atelier was very highly anticipated due to the hype from fans of the manga, and I can say it wasn't for no reason. It is a beautiful depiction of how to make a good fantasy anime.

saying With Hat Atelier is arguably my favorite anime. Visually stunning, you can see all the effort the studio put into animating this.
As for the world/magic/fantasy themes, Witch Hat Atelier brings a unique and interesting magic system that doesn't use mana like most magic systems. It takes the creative freedom that comes with making a fantasy anime and really fleshes out how magic is incorporated into the world. I personally love how it uses drawings that can be altered and changed by anyone to make new spells or repurpose already created spells. And in a world where anyone holds the ability to use magic, I like how it's portrayed that some people struggle with magic due to genetic conditions like silverwash.
When it comes to the characters and story, I very much enjoy both, but I think there's still so much room for them to be expanded on in further seasons that would make me like them even more. As it currently stands there's no character I outright love, but a handful of characters I really like. And the story is moving in a very interesting direction when it comes to the brimmed caps. I really like the moral dilemma surrounding forbidden magic, throughout the show I've been asking myself are the brimmed caps really all bad people? And are the knights moralis truly trustworthy? I really hope we get another season sooner rather than later.
The music was also very well suited for Witch Hat Atelier, it really gets you immersed in the world and added to my overall enjoyment of the series. You can really tell just how much care and passion was put into making this anime as good as it is.
Overall Witch Hat Atelier is a solid 9/10, I'd highly recommend it if you enjoy good fantasy stories, or even if you just love to watch visually pleasing anime.

I generally do not write reviews for anything that is still currently airing but due to the way this season of Re:ZERO is being aired I can make an exception. So far just off the first half alone this may just be the season that surpasses my favorite season which is season 2.

The art/character designs is currently the best it has ever been, it got better with each season in my opinion but as of now it is the best. As for the animation it looks amazing, but there's definitely slightly better animated anime out there, hence why I gave it a 9.5 as opposed to a 10. Regardless its still probably the best animated season in the series although season 3 looked amazing as well.
When it comes to the themes of this season, the psychological aspects are unmatched compared to anything I've seen before. Episode after episode I find myself with so many questions and just wanting more. Re:ZERO also never misses with the emotional moments, episode 11 is easily one of the most emotional and best episodes in the entire series, and arguably all time as well.
As for the characters, the writing and development is up there with the best of the best, Re:ZERO might have the biggest cast of characters where I genuinely really don't dislike any of them. This season especially has been huge for Subaru and Emilia, plus the new characters have been great additions.
The story is as good as ever, but it is also probably at it's best in the series. Re:ZERO has always had a very intriguing story but season 4 takes it to the next level, which is saying a lot because I believe the prior seasons have also been at least 10s in terms of story.
The music also again is maybe the best it's been. I love the opening so much and the ending is great too, also love how not only the music but the sound design in general is fantastic. Plus the moment they brought back Stay Alive for episode 11 the music couldn't ever be less than a 10 for me.
Re:ZERO has been nothing short of amazing since I started watching, and 11 episodes into season 4 it's simply the best it has ever been. I knew the light novel readers were hyping up arc 6 a lot, and it wasn't for no reason, but what gets me even more excited is they say part 2 will be even better than part 1. Not even sure how that's possible lol but I'll be there no matter what.
Re:ZERO is the definition of a masterpiece, 10/10.
