Nao is playing the game of her life here.

Hell of an episode but there were some obvious traps set up for this Russian Rolutte game. Akimiya still played his tactics like he does with other games.

Wow, this anime is getting better and better. Too bad there are only 4 episodes left. Will we get season 2 announcement?

I feel like this team of trio is the best possible. Akiyama is strategy core, Fukunaga is greedy core, and Nao is moral core.

The exaggerated smugness in Nao's lying voice cracks me up so hard, made even better by Fukunaga relying so hard on Akiyama's word (i.e. a single grin) to actually get baited by it. Sneaky Nao is officially canon lmao.

Can't wait to see what our liar general's "unreadable" poker face will look like.

Sorry so many gave up early because of the hopeless Nao ( I almost did to, honestly) we had in the first half of Season 1. She has come a long way. LOL

Who would have expected to see the day when Nao is able to lie as easy as she breaths and even fool Fukunaga ?! 🔥

Fukunaga really played this game like a Queen. Nao trying to save her opponents every fucking chance she gets while Akiyama accepts that he isn't noble like Nao but his end goal has always been taking down the people behind LGT.

So is Nao gonna play only the run through or the whole Core game as well. I hope that's not the case 'cause despite Nao calling herself a pro at Poker, this seems to be game suited for the likes of Akiyama.

Nao's a much better person than me cos I would never have thought to save the other team lol, though I suppose that's the aim of the game in terms of revealing people's true nature and selfishness, to which Nao is probably a complete anomaly. Nice to see her getting smarter and lying more easily now though, taking advantage of Fukunaga's greed like that.

Idk what the plan for winning big off of this is that Akiyama claimed is still possible, but I would love to see them stick it to the LGT office by tying the rest of the games. The only hurdle to that would be Nao's turn, because so far they've only managed to tie as Fukunaga had such a dominant lead, and despite the "massive advantage" Akiyama apparently forsook by letting Nao take the practice round, I don't doubt that he will probably come out with a wide lead too. Nao would have to maintain a similar gap before forcing a tie, or else they'd have to trust the other team to collaborate with them in tying the games, which tbf Nao could probably somehow convince them to do that too

It’s really crazy how Nao was many people’s biggest problem with this show early on, and yet look at her now, what a queen. I definitely didn’t like her at the start but omg she’s literally the best character now. See her hit Fukunaga with the same line she gave her so many episodes ago is so satisfying.

Also, I was really quite worried about this arc, that it would just be another return to the start of the smart people tricking everyone else with obvious things to the viewer, which was originally so boring. Safe to say I’m pleasantly surprised with how it’s gone.

Crazy how this show is almost in my top ten of the season after it was almost dropped early on. Very happy with deciding to keep it.

Nao the trickster and the gaslighter lol! Fun episode, and again, the true enemy was the admins of the game, and even they said that this was the point of this revival round lol! The trio is fun, the bickering is good, the chemistry is there, Akiyama in the corner of the room giggling like a fucking retard and saying "it went just as I expected"...

The flow of this episode was perfect, the best one so far, as we get the characters doing shit, rather than Akiyama saving the day!

After surviving through the early episodes Nao's development feels absolutely great, between ragebaiting Yokoya and manipulating Fukunaga to save the other team she really did evolve as a character while also keeping her compassion, awesome. Now I can't wait to see her advanced poker face techniques in the next episode lol

Nao is genuinely so good at all this shit it’s scary now. She has grown so much since everyone used to call her naive. Now she rivals and even surpasses Akiyama in many ways and she does it with an innocent smile on her face

Nao is on her eating hot chips and lying arc for real now, I figured she was lying when the idea of winning it bigger with a tie was brought up but the moment she dropped the truth was still a great moment, what a great usage of Fukunaga’s greed, it was worth every bit of anger from Fukunaga lol. But yeah that was it for 24 Round Russian Roulette, ended in a tie after the poor eyebrows fella was mentally tortured for most of it, and even physically abused by his own teammate near the end, it was a fun game but now it’s time for another.

And the next game in question is 17 Poker, the twist of the joker being added is interesting but otherwise it’s just regular poker. However, the host of this Losers Revival claims that being a part of this practice round gives a big advantage, not sure how exactly but honestly Akiyama needs a handicap for this to be really interesting anyway lol, so I’m fine with him supposedly being at a disadvantage for the start of this game. And with that, I guess we shall see if Nao and the others know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em.

Although it was for the sake of Nao's strategy, it hurt watching Fukunaga squander her lead. She was doing so well at Russian Roulette and it was really cool just seeing her operate in her element. I am curious about what Nao has planned for Poker though, she says she's better than one might expect at it but she never really gave me the impression of a card game aficionado before.

She has finally learnt the name of the game. And all the better for it.

The revival games have so far been the better games. Straightforward rules where the fun is in the player's management of their opponents. Fukunaga is the most entertaining.

Something I noticed.
Are the game invigilators all the same people across rounds?
Cuz, many of them act and say the exact same things privately. Enough to give them a vague personality, but not enough to tell them apart.

@Lucifrost Not what I am trying to say. Moreso that they all act like the exact same NPC even privately.
But this show doesn't have many characters with actual personalities to begin with so I guess it's just a nothing-burger observation.

Decent episode. Loved the OST that started playing immediately after the LGT employee revealed the next game, which turned out to be poker. I've always wanted to learn how to play that game, but it's got too many rules that I couldn't be bothered with it.

Poker aside, though, I have to comment on how much I love the chemistry between Nao and X, in addition to the chemistry between Nao and Shinichi, too. The one between Nao and Shinichi is adorable, albeit mysterious, whilst the one with X is super hilarious, haha.

The real liar was this story selling us the idea that Nao was totally helpless. Now she not only fooled Fukunaga but she is also taking the fall in the poker demo game so her other two teammates won't give away their tells.

It wasn't difficult for me to tell them apart back when I read the manga for the first time, although I don't blame you for thinking that, the series doesn't really give them much to do aside from narrating the game and explaining the strategies used in it, in fact, the live action only had one masked man.

The main masked man is Leronira, he's the most fascinated by Nao, almost sounds like he's cheering for her, the other one who was introduced in the contraband game is Nearco, he's a bit more biased to Yokoya because he had been monitoring his side in the previous games, the third one introduced in this arc is Solario, he has the most recognizable mask but other than that he's kinda forgettable, his voice acting sounds interesting though, makes him feel more shady than the other two.

@Rixuel It is imaginary chips. If they are evil organization they can come up with whatever rules and the debt is not legal anyway. If Akiyama want to dismantle them playing by their rules is not required. The set of goals players have in mind during the game is very diffirent but the Nao goal "to outplay LG by being a good boy and save everyone" is the most naive one.

"This is the Liar Game, after all. The whole point is tricking people. Wouldn't you agree?" Nao left me flabbergasted. She's come a long way in the Liar Game, but lying to Fukunaga to save the other team makes her motive as noble as ever.

With 17 Poker coming up as the next game, and that trap revealing the methodology behind this Revival Round. I wonder what's lying in wait now.

I find everything regarding the bullet turns in Russian Roulette interesting.
Complex, yet they make it look so easy.
It took me a little while to grasp it at first, but now I’m seeing it more clearly.
Even though Fukunaga is smarter than other characters, she becomes just as foolish as a lot of them whenever the topic of getting rich comes up.
Nao has gotten better at lying...
(Which actually works to her advantage in the game)
I just hope she doesn't make a habit of it or she’ll get a reputation as a liar.
The next game looks interesting, too.
