Oh Shiori...that bed scene was hilarious though. I did expect her to react in such a way.

The character study and focus on Sanda continues to be a driven force for him. Since his transformation, he had to battle against his own personal demons related to the children. An interesting psychological protrayal of his character imo.

the dystopian world building that the show does is brilliant and very imaginative. seeing tiny pieces of the actual fkt up world through the characters backstories and their ideologies is so refreshing, especially the whole kids vs adults plots having each of their own problems and drawback (lookism for the adults and the kids wanting to understand and act like the adults they are so afraid of becoming...). a phenomenal and deep show through and through.

Just this one mixes innocence with something super heavy. Now we understand why Namatame turned out so messed up, but will she really be able to achieve that goal?

Sanda’s training is intense, but I think he’ll manage to fulfill that wish. And that Yuri moment between Fuyumura and Ono was tense, huh? LOL. Every time I think about it, I realize how awful it must be to live in that world, with this evolution where adults take everything from children.

I think Sanda's resolution to not kill class 10 girl will be shaken if he sees her doing something to Ono. That's what I think will happen at the festival, she will get her hands in Ono before she gets to Sanda but he will look up for her and get there at the moment, right before it or right after. This "not kill her but endure her attempt to kill me" is too good to successfully happen in this series (as wild as it is to endure your own murder to be a good thing hahahah).

Great ep

Looks like we finally got the mini training arc with the principal.

Prime Toyo was a baddie ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ

Black Santa looks trim.

So that's why Namatame is a killer.

Forcing Amaya to shoot was crazy work.

I guess we now know Fuyumura's true feelings abt the situation with Ono.

Looks like Ono finna die next ep (hopefully not).

So granny was a baddie in her youth, if only the anime version of old people weren’t little gremlins because what a stark contrast lol. Black Santa is an interesting addition tho, I was wondering how they’d handle dealing with naughty children, a new Santa form is a cool way to do it, but even then, Sanda is still going to try and fulfill Namatame’s wish, I respect it but I’m not sure how likely that is to work, maybe we’ll see him have to pull out his new form regardless of what he wants to happen. Poor Amaya tho getting mentally scarred from shooting Sanda over and over lol, it was a good comedy bit but I feel for the guy, of course Sanda is the one actually feeling the pain but at least it gets healed, that Amaya is a real one for going through with it.

And we also got Namatame’s backstory, it’s no wonder she became so fucked up, very awful situation, but I’m glad we know that now, knowing the circumstances of her becoming a murderer changes things a bit. And lastly was the Ono and Fuyumura scene, it was really interesting seeing the contrast in their bodies, as well as their mindsets, but man you gotta feel for Fuyumura here, Ono has changed so much just by going through puberty and it’s really changed their relationship now, I wish I could just be going gaga over the nude yuri scene but unfortunately I can’t because of this lol.

This show makes me question whether we're all going to jail for watching it, looking at naked 14 yo girls and calling them "adult", lol.

Otherwise, interesting episode. I liked how Amaya said "I turned into a gunman over night", lol, like he found his true profession :D

The final scene of Sanda giving Fuyumura a hug when she was so vulnerable felt really touching, like, there wasn't any dumb thoughts like "omg I'm seeing a naked girl!!11", nah, it was his genuince concerne for her. Also thumbs up to Amaya for putting a jacket on her immediately. These 3 are great friends.

For a moment there I thought Sanda wasn't the only person who altered between a younger form and an elder transformation.

The chills from Fumi's backstory though.

I'm loving Barbara Goodson in these mentor roles. Sanda's new black santa form is looking spiffy! But a santa who's able to punch old ladies and fight kids makes me think Sanda is a bit right to be worried about that form. There's nothing jolly about that!

Poor Amaya had to gain some trauma by shooting Sanda for training. At least Yagiuda treated him and Sanda to ramen again.

Man, I just want Fuyumura and Ono to be happy. But as seen with Fumi's traumatic flashback, growing up in the world of Sanda is way too messed up.

I didn’t expect such a reaction from Fuyumura. It really shows the difference in maturity between adults and children.
Even though they’re the same age, Ono’s early maturity has genuinely changed the way she thinks and how she approaches life.

I really like that they're finally acknowledging the side characters and fleshing them out. I was waiting for the the Ohno episode for a while, and, while this is not exactly that, they're at least starting to acknowledge her character and the cliffhanger implies more is on the way. Also really liked the serial killer backstory and am interested to see what they do with her character.
Also, are we just gonna ignore that woman that granny turned into for a sec?

In Louisiana, a swamp country, Santa traditionally wears a brown outfit with green gloves. So I wonder what powers, if any, Brown Santa may have haha.

That's probably what I love most about it. I love anime that twists it to the point it's so dark that it's horrifying to think about. Even non dark anime like Dragon Ball and One Piece have some arcs that are terrible of happening in real life like The Frieza Saga or Thriller Bark Arc!!

Feel like we've got another glance at how society works in Sanda. That's honestly so messed up!!. Loved the mom backstory, and I think the bed scene really shows you how all these actions society has taken to "protect" these children has not only affected them terribly (As in her not being able to convey her feelings in any other way but that extreme scene) but also it just brings a massive divide between children and adults. Don't mind the low quality post I'm exhausted Loving the series so far

Love, romantic love is very much the product of those fizzing hormones teenagers experience during puberty. How can Ono ask Fuyumura if she has sexual feelings for her when Fuyumura has no idea what that even means?

OK Namatame makes sense now o_O Sadly Ono does not, girl gets boobs and she and everyone around her treat her different, why? Since when did developing breasts completely change someone so drastically? Besides don't most girls "mature" more when they start menstuating? They have that clear cut biological line of "you are now an adult", and why guys stay immature, they have no definite overnight occurance. I mean I could buy all the Ono stuff if these kids were younger but all these girls have obviously hit puberty already. They even made a point of showing Niko's breasts rubbing against Sanda when she was trying to kiss him, why isn't she an "adult"?

Amaya needing to shoot sanda over and over was the funniest scene in the series so far, and I love how the teacher guy has basically become a ally at this point. The scene with ono was absolutly the stand out and was done really tastefully despite how absurd the situation is, but the idea of someone growing up at a rapid age than the person they are in love with and developing those urges while they aren't is an incredibly fucked concept that I think this show expertly handled.

Sanda getting his own training treatment with Headmistress-cum-Chief Director Tetsudome on his next fight against Nametame, she is a warrior enough to force his Santa self to a fight, even evolving into Black Santa for the first step towards adulthood. But for Namatame, her grown-up story staying by her mother's side when both their father and brother gave up on her, only to realize that her mother wasn't a full human and deciding to lay her mother down at her worst, Sanda seeing a semblance to empathize Namatame, yet with her declaration of war on him, the burly man can't afford to take things at face value.

Sanda requesting Amaya for a point-blank shot practice with Yagiuda observing right before the Peak of Youth ceremony to overcome his eventual loss to Namatame not trying to inflict hurt on her, Amaya sure trains fast as a hitman. Even on Fuyumura's end, seeing her treatment of Ono, even to the point of her criticism that she neglected her for friends that the Ono before her very eyes isn't the same Ono as she once remembered, running buck naked is one thing, but it's clear that this is where the girls' relationship fell apart.

Maturity can be both a good and bad thing, though like Fuyumura, it creates even more emotional scars...

This episode was brilliant. I really enjoyed the background on Namatame; her story is genuinely heartbreaking. I saw the cutting off of the hands coming a mile away but it still hit hard. And the tension in her present day exchange with Sanda was expertly handled! His training sessions with the headmistress and Hitoshi & Saburo were fun!

Then, I thought the infirmary scene was excellent! I love the bond between Shiori and Ono. The adolescent angst feels so real and visceral, rather than cliché or old news.

Wow granny looked gorgeous back in her days. As usual this show takes being young to the extreme. Very messed up/broken world building. Meanwhile Fuyumura and Ono stuck in their grown up bs. Ono will prolly help the principal cause she wants to be with Fuyumura or some shit. Also damn Sanda going to the extreme to help children. That poor kid having to shoot his friend.

This episode really proved that Santa’s intuition was right. Children shouldn’t be blamed entirely for their bad actions, because it often comes from bad parenting or negative influence from adults, just like we saw with Fumi.
Amaya is also being influenced in a bad way by Santa himself, especially with how he keeps forcing him to shoot him in the head over and over again.
I think Santa should trust his instincts more and try to save those children instead of fighting them.

The rector is teaching him a lesson, even if he is Santa he can't low his guard and have mercy on children and old people, now he can also become the black Santa. I didn't understand how that works, is the black Santa a completely different thing? Or juts a change of mind?

Namatame's backstory. Her mom was just like the principal, obsessed with youth and that ended up destroying the family and herself. That explains why she is a murderer and now she also knows Sanda's identity, will she dare to attack him in his child form?

A pain tolerance training with guns, he is in fact inmortal and not even a shot in the head can take him down. So if he is inmortal why do they keep trying to kill him? It's a lost cause.

Meanwhile Ono and Fuyumura doing weird stuff. I also didn't understand that scene, what did she want by that? Clarify her feelings and Fuyumura's for each other? Or just accepting the difference that comes with adulthood, kinda weird.

Asking your child friend to murder you repeatedly so you can be murdered by an insane child later is... well, insane.

Fuyumura pleading with Sanda to bring Ono back gave me all sorts of feelings. And Fuyumura screaming about the "obsession" with man/woman/child/adult. Surprisingly sad and impactful.
