While the manga is completed, it hasn't all been translated to English so unless the date on this review is way past, you may enjoy the movie adaptation more if you don't want to wait to complete the story. That being said, the manga is also very good!
If you're interested in manga like Violet Evergarden and Frieren that are kind of heavy in their fantasy, I think this manga does a good job of adding a new element to that flavor genre. has for their child, and the way that a parent living much longer and slower affects and distorts that relationship.
It also explores the geopolitics and conflict that would exist in such a fantasy setting on a larger scale. The way that fantasy races and creatures are exploited feels believably sad, and the way that their exploitation causes species decline, which causes regional decline, then causing new conflict, all snowball into a well written and engaging narrative.
Once the entire manga is translated to English I'll hopefully remember to update this review. I think it's 3 volumes in total, so not a terribly long read for how much punch it packs, and only half is translated. It's honestly impressive how much story is fit into so little manga here, in a good way.

If you like historical fiction you may enjoy this. I have learned that some of the religious aspects are not accurate, but religion and historical accuracy at least *seem* important to the author, and you will genuinely learn some things about being both a persian/muslim, and a step nomad, during the reign of Ghengis Kahn. It's a culture shock at times! This isn't a standard anime plot, it's a historical political drama. It is ongoing but I can't imagine it going for tooooo much longer, plot wise.
There are lots of large time skips in service of the history. The main plot is a power struggle

between the main descendants of Ghengis Kahn after he dies, while the main character does what she can to encite further division and conflict to hopefully cause a collapse of the empire.
I picked this up because I've liked a lot of the middle eastern and oriental mangas I've read, but this one was very different in its attempt to depict the regions more accurately and with less romanticization. I'm sure some romanticization and flattening exists, but I am not part of the culture depicted and therefore can't tell, so everything with a grain of salt.
I also decided to read it because I love witch mangas! However, this is very much a traditional eastern interpretation of a witch, not the western fantasy witch you may be expecting.
All in all, it wasn't particularly "for me" but it wasn't difficult to keep reading and I definitely learned about the region and it's history and culture in a way that I wouldn't have retained the same from a drier source like wikipedia or a textbook.

If you like titles like Apothecary Diaries and Ascendance of a Bookworm, you'll like this too!
This is a preliminary review at chapter 31, as the manga is ongoing.
Overall, this is a character driven power fantasy with a dash of romance. The romance is not overpowering if you are uninterested in it, but it is central to the plot. All the characters so far are fleshed out and have meaningful arcs and changes of opinion.
The main love interest man is an interesting and deeply flawed human being. So often love interests in plots like this are watered down to be more likable, but

this one is a freak! And yet written in a way that makes him still likeable despite his flaws.
The plot keeps you engaged and advances steadily, with a clear end on the horizon, but also meaningful progress points. I don't expect this manga to drag on overly long, but I don't expect it to be over very quickly either. The pacing is very comfortable.
As a power fantasy the MC is a little OP obviously, but it feels relatively grounded in that this is her seventh time living the same 5 year span. Technically that makes her 50 years old, lol. I guess she would be pretty good at recognizing herbs and figuring out how things work in that time. Each of her previous lives she did different jobs, and there are lots of flashbacks so you get to see her at many different stages.
I do wish the loop wasn't from 15 to 20 personally, as it's pretty difficult to imagine a 15 year old pulling off this plot. But like with most anime everyone is always younger than they act and appear. Just add ten to the ages in your head.
In conclusion, if you like the idea of being a fly on the wall while someone in a time loop successfully changes the course of history (while putting themselves first in a relationship of convenience that becomes more,) dive in.

A good portion of this manhwa is very enjoyable. Strong female MC who is determined to avoid the tragedy of the isekai fantasy she has been dropped into. She has a strong appreciation for the chance to do over her life and goals, and does her best to avoid any possible drama and miscommunication. She acts exactly how one would hope a self insert isekai MC would act and her arc isn't terrible either. (Accepting eventually that she is allowed to change the outcome of this fantasy world and put herself first.)
As that simple power fantasy it's good! However! The ending really sucks! All of

a sudden the story and lore that was previously being fed to the reader piecemeal smacks you like a damn white semi truck. In one or two chapters all the the mystery and intrigue of what happens next just comes out all at once, and the story writing of it all is very shoddy. It feels like someone told the author they had to wrap up their whole long series in just a few chapters and they hadn't worked out a good ending yet.
All in all, it's cute, I like the MC, the love interest feels a little one dimensional but is passable, but I wouldn't reccomended this to anyone without a good amount of caveats.

Pretty minor spoilers imo - Every chapter is just a new extremely cute meet cute that ends in a relationship. What's not to like?? Very feel good manga!
The art is extremely cute. I found this through someone posting a kiss scene because of how cute it was. Even though each story is only one chapter long, and the endings are predictable, the characters feel well rounded and realistic and there is enough build up and history that there is still tension before the characters inevitably get together.
Mal says this review needs more information but truly it is a simple and well executed repeating premise.

A very cute manga where the perfect princely love interest has seemingly no flaws other than being extremely rich and privledged. It's kind of frustrating in that way. He's almost TOO kind and mature. Which can feel unrealistic. But the art is very pretty and the romance is very sweet. I do love that he always respects her boundaries, and they communicate if either party feels pressured to do something.
I've given this a 7 because I was invested in their romance and the tension was good! That being said, minor spoilers ahead, they reach a lot of big milestones by Volume 5 and I

think some of the tension that made it good is gone now (for me.)
My main dislike is that by volume 5 it feels as though the main heroine has lost a bit of her otaku personality, and I'm always sad when that happens in romance mangas. People changing what makes them them for their lovers I mean. It's still there it's just much reduced. If you've read Horimiya it feels like how the main character of that one loses his piercings and long hair and punk aesthetic.
All that being said, this manga is ongoing and there are hints of a secondary love interest that's more of an otaku and fits the heroines original personality better. I think that could be taken somewhere interesting! But also I wouldn't be surprised if he just confesses his love and she simply rejects him.

This manga does such a good job of building tension without getting stale or too frustrating. Definitely one of those manga that will have you screaming and yearning for them to just kiss already!!! It's a feel good fluffy romance, so if that's not the kind of content you know you enjoy, there may not be enough drama and intense storyline in this for you!
The main characters are introduced as tropes that COULD be flat and static, but instead the manga really fleshes them out as individuals and gives them character growth. Even the side characters feel fully developed. Wanting to see how much

more the characters grow and realize things about themselves and others is great at keeping you invested.
I'm one of those people that regularly gets frustrated by plot built on miscommunication and this didn't frustrate me. They don't WANT to communicate the truth of their gender, so it feels very different to someone not communicating for no apparent reason.
Also the frustration that a problem wouldn't have occurred if communication had happened is also lost, because the main problems in the story are not born of the lack of communication. Usually the problems are as simple as, the maid cafe is closed this week so I have to suffer not seeing my love intrest! Or, my love interest is getting hit on and I'm jealous!
Something else this manga does right is in its queer representation. It doesn't play into the tired trope of, ew you cross dress that's disgusting, when someone finds out. But also it doesn't avoid the negative feeling/doubts/or public stress of being queer or not passing. It's very love is love pro lgbtq+, and overall the interesting crossplay premise avoids a lot of the toxic tropes that BL and yuri have because the main characters regularly act as both genders and aren't as tied down by gender roles.
Obviously this manga is ongoing, so I cannot confirm that it will stay this way, or what will happen when the tension finally breaks. In general though I think this is a very feel good manga that usually makes you laugh and feel warm and fuzzy. So I strongly doubt that will take a sudden turn into harsh drama and unpleasant feelings!

So few reviews on such a good Manga! I'm so glad it was finally added to MAL.
Right off the bat I have to talk about the abusive and unhealthy relationship dynamics in this manga. Unfortunately in manga, and especially BL, this is to be expected at this point. It's a drama, you're going to get some f-ed up relationship dynamics. They are very physically violent with each other, and do not communicate in health ways or have healthy boundaries.
If the abusive relationship dynamics aren't deal breakers for you, (you'll know pretty quickly if they are or not,) the story is so funny and heartwarming
...
and engaging. It draws you in and you desperately want to know what happens next to the main cast.
The art is compelling and beautiful, even if (again like always in manga) they are high schoolers that look nothing like high schoolers. But it's always refreshing to me to have a cast of beautiful men instead of beautiful women. Which is just a general reason to enjoy BL.
It gets pretty gritty at times, with violence and blood, and yet those serious moments are contrasted well by the slapstick comedy of HS age boys, and the ever blossoming romance.
Even though it's ongoing I would recommend it highly, and continue to come back for every new chapter, which I don't do with many ongoing mangas. So check it out!
