3. a grand epic, how a nobody with a broken future can become a center of intricate plot

This donghua is an intriguing blend of ambition, court politics, betrayal, redemption, and survival. The story is well-constructed, and the visuals really fit the narration; it's dark, somber, and ominous. Its not unique but the presentation is good enough.
The animation quality is good for 2D, and the fight scenes are striking and bloody. The characters are well-developed and the dialogues are deep and piercing. I really like the characters and the whole vibe of the show—they complement each other perfectly, being both dark and brutal. I really liked the first season, the whole narrative and the mood made me curious. Give it a go! It's worth watching.

Does not have a lot to offer; it is pretty simple and sometimes annoying. Predictable cultivation genre, no unique feature. Characterization Weirdly annoying, hollow, and kind of insignificant. Once you finish watching, you will not miss any of them. They are not well rounded, found rather stupid. Technical Quality Setting and artistic quality is too good for this poor story. Animation quality and world-building are decent. Action scenes are also decent, but poor story and characterization almost ruined these positive aspects. It did not give a satisfying feeling to watch till the end. If you have watched a lot of good donghua then it is going to disappoint you.

This is a great show. Han Li is a cultivation freak. The only problem, in my opinion, is the fact that Han Li would not fight willingly with anyone above his level. He always is so calculating and always try to find an escape route first which may get on one's nerve. This is purely a cultivation show with some fight scene.
