My doctor said I should cut down on sugar, but here we are. Tamon's B-Side is a great example of a wholesome romance. While it is filled with silly moments like Tamon's gloomy overreactions and Utage's fangirling, it is ultimately a cute story about a guy who is trying his best and a girl who genuinely cares for him.
On top of the main story, there are some side stories about the side characters. These stories have similar vibes to the main story, so they do not feel out of place.
If that sounds like your kind of manga, that's great, but I have 2 caveats:
1. There ...

It's a pretty standard romcom with good art and a unique premise.

I was initially drawn to the series because of the promise of a distinctive male lead different to the usual perfect cold mysterious genius or playboy, and to its credit, the male lead Tamon is unique. He and the female lead Utage are caricatures, extremely exaggerated characters answering how would an idol with zero self-esteem and an obsessive fangirl interact? I think it's a decently written series, the pacing from the short amount I've read seems comfortable and like their relationship is getting some development, there's plenty of superficial comedy and romance elements ...

This is a comedy manga which means it doesn't take itself very seriously. Listen, I'm not an idol fan, I've never been obsessed with celebrities or any type of media. I thought I was not going to be the target audience for a manga that is centered around an idol group and their superfan. BUT this series is hilarious! If you're not into idol-culture like me, this is a great satire, the manga is self-aware enough to portray both sides of the entertainment industry while still being fun. If you're unsure about the relationship dynamic, it's not weird at all. Utage might be Tamon's fan, ...

as many people have said it before, this series is literally a love letter to oshi culture! it offers a very sweet perspective of fangirling (though the main character can be pretty intense about it) in a story where the fan and the idol share a genuine connection.
the side characters' stories contribute nicely to the comedy and the "B-side" theme of the series since everyone shares such a stark contrast with their idol personas! it's hilarious to see how different the guys act behind closed doors.
the characters go through slowly-paced development such as the FL slowly getting to know the ML better and seeing him ...

If you are like me and you enjoy silliness, romance and then some more silliness, then this manga is for you.

Excentric, "sexy" womanizer on screen, pathetic, anxious boy failure at home, Tamon is a VIVID character just like Utage, his No. 1 obssessive fangirl. We get to know Tamon and his duality right away, when Utage finds herself as his housekeeper. She took on a part-time job for the sole reason of financing her obsession with her favourite idol. But of course she didn't expect to meet Tamon himself when she was unexpectedly called in to cover a coworker's shift.
After learning that Tamon is ...

Overall, Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? is a pretty basic shoujo manga. Tamon, as well as the other group members are interesting especially with their Janus personalities, but Utage is very typical. A lot of basic shoujo mangas have fl that don't stick out much; there are countless brown-haired and uninteresting fl's which is why I'm not too keen on Tamon's B-Side.

The story overall feels like a Wattpad fanfiction. It's manga, and it's ridiculous, but it feels so very juvenile to that point I don't really want to read more. Utage, a diehard fan of Tamon, suddenly becomes his housekeeper, and on top of that, catches the ...

Tamon's B-side really works for me as a rom-com. Its definitively more of a com than a rom and i dig that.

I see some similarity to ouran highschool host club (not too much now, i treat ohshc in a similar way that utage treats tamon) - they both work on that shoujo, or in this case idol, stereotype. They are also both hilarious and work on insane exaggerations of characters and situations.

The premise is very simple, so simple that you might think it will be formulaic and similar to many idol/fan manhwas but its really not! The author takes this idea to its ...
