Ariane's sister is a funny one. All that energy and love but she's also not a pushover when it comes to combat.

The investigation case aside, I thought it was a neat episode for them to catch up. They also behave like you'd expect from close sisters. Arc does acknowledge Ariane's strength and she's grateful.

Eevin's as skillful as ever. I'm glad her and Arc have finally met up. Although, gaining her approval to marry Ariane looks to be a tall order. (Even if Ariane doesn't agree with that train of thought lol.)

This sanctuary has quickly shown itself to be shady with its residents disappearing instead of being safeguarded. Even worse, A horde of skeletons coming from a hidden floor door makes for quite the ominous cliffhanger.

Well that's it. Second season has nothing to do with the LN/manga story. At least I don't remember anything like this from books. Which is shame, because the books are fun and interesting.

While first season did skip and changed things, it generally followed the books, so I don't understand the sudden shift for second season.

Eevin shouldn't have met Arc until way later (she didn't fight him either). And Eevin is way better at swordplay than Arc. Arc would have to tap into his raw power and high-level skills and spells to keep up with Eevin.

We're still not at the spring! What are we doing? Is the entire season going to be just random side quests?

A complete letdown as I love this story and at episode 4 only one of those has been cannon.

Why even make a second season if it’s all going to be filler?!

Brooooo who are all these characters, I've never seen them in the books. Except for one scene with Yuriana, everything else is anime original. And there is no fight with skeletons in the cellar. It also makes very little sense for them to be there. And the next episode is gonna continue on that shitty original story. Yeah, and Ariane's sister appears way later. We are still not at the springs, but surely that will happen, right? The one scene that actually happened in the LN. Think about it guys, 1 short scene out of 4 anime original episodes was Yuriana meeting her brother. And even that was rushed and skipped lots of details and important points which I can understand to save time or whatnot, but what are we saving time for? anime original content? When anime staff doesnt even understand Skeleton Knight? Like Arc never use Fire spell before, at least I don't remember.

Another disappointing thing I didnt think of is Ponta. In the books, every few pages there is mention of Ponta and his reaction, like him wagging its tail or mewing or yawning. Here, it doesnt even feel like Ponta is there.

For Yuriana scene, she appeared before his brother with BODYGUARDS, like you know, even in the anime she mentioned how her brother is the one who has something to do with her assassination, and what? is she stupid enough to walk in there without any guards? In the novel she even had an elder of elves accompany her, he was very intimidating, like try to do anything to her, see what happens. Then there is no mention that she is accompanied by elven soldiers, as well as 200 soldiers that her sister lent her(wife of the ruler of Grand Duchy).
Then the anime totally missed why it'd be bad for Yuriana to get friendly with elves, its not because of the equality or whatever, it's because she wants to establish trade relationships with the elves, as elves are very technologically advanced and that technology would be essential for their human kingdom to develop. And if she managed to secure that deal, most of the nobles would flock into her faction, making her the next queen.

Like, even with the only scene they adapted, they managed to fuck it up this much.

@HarbingerOfGods it's such a pain honestly. Every monday my mood is in the gutters. Why is it so hard to adapt faithfully. At this point there is no saving this season. Next episode is also gonna be a filler, and one scene they adapted was not even adapted well lol.

"Thanks. I guess."

Looks like it was to decided to go mostly anime original, centering on the theme of helping the downtrodden. Seems like they will still put in Arc's journey to the magic spring.

In that narrow corridor at the end, Arc could deal for the whole trash mob of skeleton with one Wyvern Slash, but they will likely try to make the fight more dramatic.

why elves are like cats
we see ariana tingling her ears
and act like cat when drunk
and also her sister hugging each other is okay
but swiping cheeks they act more like cats

maybe it happens only in female elves
but these are dark elves
very immature ig or maybe they act like this around there loved ones

Someone needs to tell the author that it's possible to write a plotline that isn't about kidnapped elves. It's starting to get old.

Eevin is a pretty fun character and a really good fighter, she defeated Ariane pretty easily.
Yuriana is pretty smart, I'm sure she's got a plan of sorts to take down her brother.
There's that skeleton army again, the party should be able to make short work of them.

The only good thing about this episode was the scene with Eevin and Ariane naked in the bathtub. Other than that, this season is starting to drive me crazy—what are these ridiculous, made-up plotlines? Where did Chiyome go? And why does even an episode that’s supposed to not be a filler feel like one!

Episode 4

  • They are dealing with a haunted house this time?
  • Eevin is a nice sister to Ariane, she is definitely too loving and got lots of energy lol
  • Bro, getting Arianes hand in marriage is gonna be difficult, you have to surpass her sister in swordsmanship AND get her fathers approval πŸ’€
  • A job... lemme guess investigation and then a kidnapping/assassination/slavers? It's getting old ngl.
  • The sanctuary seems like a good place but it seems shady.
  • It ain't complete without a hot bath scene with big 🍈
  • Ok, the master of the manor is sus as hell. Those closed eyes gives them away.
  • Hi skeleton brothers! πŸ‘‹πŸ€£
  • We probably got a necromancer.

Ah damn, so if what LN readers are saying is correct, this is pretty much another anime original story too, with just one scene being from the LN, being the Yuriarna and Sekt scene, also apparently Eevin isn’t supposed to meet Arc for a while longer. Well that is unfortunate, I think at this point it’s clear they might be doing their own thing for this season, I hate it for LN fans, and I think I said this before, but even I’d like to see the content adapted properly as an anime only. But I think going forward, if this season is going original for the most part, then I’ll watch it for what it is, I also don’t wanna repeat the same thing every week lol, so I’ll hold off on mentioning the LN content again unless an episode comes along that is more faithful.

With all that out of the way, I found the episode itself to be a fun one, been a hot minute since we’ve seen Eevin so it’s good to have her back, and it’s not just because she is as well endowed as Ariane lol, although surprising Arc with a fight upon her meeting him was a dangerous move, thankfully Ariane noticed right away who it was. And with Eevin showing up, we’ve got a new plot with this sanctuary for elves that is probably doing something evil behind the scenes, and yeah there’s no question about it now since the main trio found a bunch of Arcs in the basement (Arc did say “is that me?” after all lol). I was liking the spooky vibes of this investigation but now it’s time for a bone filled throwdown.

Also, thought I’d mention the fight between Ariane and Eevin, it definitely coulda looked better but it was interesting to see Ariane get bested there, Eevin is quite the badass babe huh.

Great, another episode with nothing interesting happening.

They really don't have anything to work with do they? Seems like they're making shit up to pad the time. So far this season has been underwhelming me so I'm giving it 5/10 in advance. I don't give a flying fuck about generic fantasy elves Japanese can't write, so seeing generic-ass backstory of these sisters interest me as much as the plot we're sitting through right now.

Also, nice job sweeping that.. dirt, outside, you guys. Just keep looking busy, that's the key:

So far, this season really feels like it only has one type of conflict: slavery and slave traders. Every new arc seems to circle back to the same problem, and I am starting to wish the series would branch out into something different. There is plenty of potential in this world, so it would be nice to see Arc face a wider variety of challenges instead of repeating the same storyline over and over.

Arc's reaction to seeing the other skeletons was at least hilarious. His immediate, "Is that me?" genuinely made me laugh.

That Yakof is the one behind this. He is doing nasty business under his wife's name.

There is so much content to adapt so why are we wasting 5 episodes on filler garbage.
where's the spring, are we actually going to get the Tagent plotline cause the ending makes no damn sense without it.
I genuinely thought we could have reached the Cardinal Palurumo plotline this season but I guess we're never getting that cause after this. season 3 has no chance.
Season 1 adapted volumes 1-4 of the manga so season 2 covering 5-9 should have been doable but so far its done literally nothing.

Read the manga folks or the LN if you prefer that medium.

What the heck is this season? Pointless banter for most of the scenes like they're stretching it to reach the end credits. This season feels neutered and being held back by some stupid guy at HR.
"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

Decent episode, albeit a bit confusing. Is the main party finally heading to the curse-curing spring, as Arc mentioned at the end of the episode, or will they end up uncovering more cases of elves and beastfolk being kidnapped and tortured to death again?
