Arc's investigation into this episode around the kidnapping became more complicated. The kid responsible isn't doing it for self profit either but for his sister. Plus, there's some shady manipulation involved from others.

At least they learned the truth about this.

On another note, Ariane getting drunk on meat is priceless.

So far, this season has mostly felt like filler. It keeps revisiting the same kinds of situations and jokes that we already saw in the first season, so it has not really felt like the story is moving forward in a meaningful way.

There's nothing wrong with filler episodes (in fact they are useful for character development and world building), but we've already seen how Arc and Ariane deals with this kind of thing, so there was nothing new to see here.

This was again mostly anime-original. It borrowed some elements from LN, but ultimately did its own thing.

We did get few seconds of walking skeletons with unknown figure, which should relate to the overall plot. I really hope we're finally getting back on track.

A typical short arc for Arc.

Drunk Ariane in the inn room from season 1 was better that this season's drunk Ariane in the inn room.

@phantomfandom I mean, it’s far more profitable than just killing them, money makes things happen.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

One filler episode is fine, two are more or less bearable, but three, I don't have enough swear words, apparently only the next episode will continue the first season, and how stupid the scene of the attack on Ariane looked, especially stupid is that the attackers then managed to escape.

@Stark700 That damned Alcohol basted Turkey had me gasping for air! Every bite she ate, the more smashed she got! The closest thing IRL I can think of, is a relative of one of my old bosses made rumballs, by not cooking the rum out of them. Those things were EVIL! LOL

I guess they stopped all of the slavers then...? I was expecting them to show the 'featured' slaver who seemed to be their leader again, but then they just seemed to stop the carriage and that was it.

I like the episodic mystery format for now though!

Edit: I liked Pontals plushie in London at the end of the episode!

Is there even a story to be told in this?
all of it feels like a filler, they gained no new knowledge nor allies with these detours, always rescuing ppl and catching slavers, all sidequests.

Totally fine for first episode to refresh us of their abilities and world situation but no development by ep 3 is hard to defend...

My heart hurts for LN readers as we are on Episode 3 and apparently we’re still getting anime original content, I guess they must be doing this so they can end on a certain point, but still three episodes in a row of original stuff can’t feel good for LN readers.

That being said, I thought the episode was as fun as always, I won’t ever say no to some drunk Ariane, Arc trying to keep her from eating more of the alcoholic turkey was quite funny lol. And the situation in this one involved a pair of siblings, Shil and Shia, who were roped into this trafficking operation after Shil was pretty much forced to work with them after the accident that injured Shia. Can’t say I approve of the siblings’ dangerous business of climbing that tower with no safety precautions, but I’m glad Arc and Ariane helped them out and dealt with the traffickers, and Arc actually did straight up kill those two that tried running away, of course it didn’t depict as much violence because you couldn’t really see their bodies get eviscerated, but just because the violence is toned down a bit, doesn’t mean these awful people are safe from dying lol.

And we got teased on a new villain with a skeleton army coming up, not sure if we’ll finally be getting into some LN content with the next one but I really hope we do for the LN readers’ sake.

Nah I completely disagree, yeah some stills were used in some scenes as well as CGI, but Season 1 also used plenty of CGI and didn’t necessarily have amazing production either, this isn’t anything close to how OPM Season 3 looked imo.

Climbing a tower for a few coins is insane. I wouldn't want that job even if it pays lots.

Drunk Ariane is adorable and scary as a nuke at the same time lol

Ahh so the tower act is not actually for money but rather recon to find victims for the kidnappers.

The kid calling Arc a dumbass then Arc falling and finally Arc calling the kid dumbass just cracked me up XDDD.

Yup, this is the reason why I wouldn't do those stunts like climbing buildings. I'm scared of dying. Poor kid though, he had to work for his sisters health and couldn't make enough.

I hate these bandits taking advantage of his situation. They got what they deserved.

@TheColonel76 you won't imagine the pain I'm in 3 weeks in a row xD. I'm honestly considering dropping this. It's really a shame, because starting from vol 4 is when it gets really interesting, and instead of adapting that, we get ... this. Even that skeleton teaser at the end didn't really happen in that way. And even then that plot happens in vol 6. So really disappointing

So, yet another filler episode. They didn't question the slavers about the demand for slaves, just killed them out of hand. Not that they didn't deserve it, but by all appearances it was just an unaffiliated operation and there wasn't any mysterious villain backing them. Yet again the plot has failed to move an inch. This is why I consider it to be filler.

@BatFooty I thought so at first too, but he was just trying to survive with his only remaining family member; it's not quite as black and white as I'd like, but he doesn't seem bad. Although he sure seemed like he deserved it until he broke down to tell them about his sister
