Damn, a game of Russian Roulette. Still a lot of mind games and psychological drama even with the stakes.

Looks like this episode had some special rules and mechanics so it's not a normal Russian Rulette type of game. High stakes though and money is still at stake.

Fukunaga is easily my favourite character in the anime so far. Hope nothing bad happens next episode though.

I loved this episode, a real treat seeing Fukunaga in action like that with some help from Akiyama. It's wonderful to see how they both work so well!!

It's interesting that it ended on Nao. We've seen that she wants to prove herself useful in the team and it's curious to see if she will succeed!!

Overall, very interesting episode

Fukunaga crushed it in Russian roulette; maybe that's why they gave him a gun in the opening.
I have no idea what the trap Nao's talking about could be. I thought maybe starting off losing was a bluff by the other team, but that's impossible because we saw they didn't know the odds increased after the sixth shot.

Fukunaga brings her A-game here, she's both terrifying enemy and trustworthy ally, only if you make sure she's really your ally LOL.

I feel like the key to winning this game is to make the dealer pull the trigger, but there are some conditions to be met, they just can't skip 5 times without any preparation.

As if the standard mindgames weren't enough, the (fake) gunpowder plot was downright evil. We got a tiny taste of it during Contraband but warching Fukunaga wreak psychological havoc as an ally is pretty fun.

Nao detecting something before even Akiyama did sure is a surprise.

This Russian Roulette is really an interesting game. Fukunaga is killing it. I guess her stunning looks is throwing the opponent off LOL

Akiyama planting the idea to make the opponent team load three bullets in a row and Fukunaga was confusing his opponent with his mind games. I never would have thought that the bullets' position can be judged based on the imbalance in the loading and the way the cylinder moves cause of it and Fukunaga used the eyeliner to create the black smudge to confuse the dude into believing it was gun powder 😅

But Nao noticed something that even Akiyama and Fukunaga failed to notice and she said that they have got caught in a trap now..damn, the cliffhanger!

Make way for the queen!!
I love this outfit so much. The manga version of this outfit was my favourite of hers for half my life, but the anime equivalent beats it!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

And this was just the practice match, basically. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

That’s a cruel cliffhanger!
This is a terrible show to watch weekly - it’s basically made for a binge watch…
But I’m enjoying it, and I’m glad Nao is starting to contribute and shine.

Knowing Fukunaga is on Nao's team makes watching him play his psychological games waaay better and more entertaining. I missed him using his wig!! He looks so fucking good with it, it somehow enhances his "asshole/tricky" expressions xD <3 It even looks like he's having more fun.

It was a delight to see Fukunaga in this round, she just crushes it in Russian Roulette. I didn't understand at first how such a game could be rigged or manipulated but Akiyama's explaination makes a lot of sense. I don't understand the trap that Nao's spotted but I'll assume it has something to do with the dealer for now. Perhaps it's based on turn order, since the fifth pass forfeits the round, then so long as their guy gets the fourth forfeit then Fukunaga will be forced to shoot otherwise it goes to the dealer at which point the entire pot could be lost.

24 Round Russian Roulette is off to an intense start even from the practice round, something about the gun going off even without a real bullet in it is still stressful lol. And ngl I thought Fukunaga (I’m going with that from now on since the first name, Yuji, is never used in the show) was just fucking with the eyebrows fella at first, because I was thinking how the hell would Fukunaga know where the bullets are, but the trick with the sound of the spin didn’t occur to me at all, and giving how Akiyama also planted the idea of putting three bullets in a row into the other team’s head, I fear they were cooked from the start lol.

And yeah that poor eyebrows guy got absolutely fried by Fukunaga, it helps that Fukunaga’s poker face and psychological tricks were great as well (and yeah I figured the “gunpowder” had to be a trick too), but the end of the episode suggests this might not be a surefire win after all despite how Fukunaga dominated up until now. And it was Nao who noticed it too? Damn I gotta know what this trap is lol, I did figure tho that one of the rounds had to be loss so we’d see all three rounds play out, but will it be Fukunaga that fucks up? Guess we’ll find out.

Man even a simple game like that can have so much depth, i miss Yokoya but this arc is still pretty fun.

Also having Fukunaga as an ally is pretty reassuring, bro's a menace.

People here misgender Fukunaga to a concerning degree, it's a bit disheartening to see.

Nooo it is rubber bullets as i expected in the previous round. I mean the fake ones. Anyway you'd go for rubber if those rounds are with Fukunaga-chan.
It is pretty good that those games always have the loopholes and we know how to use them.

Loved the episode, especially because of how Fukunaga effed up the spearhead of the opposing team. Nevertheless, how the heck in tarnation, on god's green earth, did Nao realize that there's a terrible trap set for the main party, including Shinichi, Nao, and X?

I am guessing the trap is since the chance of getting hit is increase after 8th round, and if they are both refuse to pull the trigger and keep on passing, and then the dealer got all the chips in the end if they keep doing so?

@Kai200X so far that looks plausible with all the info we got from episode 20

Wondering about the trap. The other guy seemed clueless for real. Also it might be possible that only 3 (or 4 or 5) bullets are loaded - if they by chance picked the same locations. Unless they then randomly get placed (or placed to the next empty spot).

As great as it is this game of Russian Roulette isn't using real bullets, the debt you take on from losing is worth keeping your guard up.

Fukunaga bluffing Nishida into firing with that eyeliner shavings trick was a smooth move by her. Good on Akiyama too by figuring out the cylinder is unbalanced, and letting it slip to the other team that putting your bullets in a row is the best play.

Nao's spotted a trap, and I'm in the dark as to what it could be. I look forward to finding out what she's got to say.

This game of Russian roulette seems faster than the previous ones.
And the first opponent appears to be another vulnerable character.
In any case, Akiyama and the others seem far too confident...
What did Nao realize at the last moment?
A great episode and cliffhanger. It flew by!
