Clannad as a whole is a series that was very enjoyable. I feel that the original Clannad exceeded my expectations as I heard that people found it boring, but I enjoyed a lot of the moments throughout the series and found all of the characters entertaining and likeable. The only problem that I would have with the original Clannad is the pacing as it is pretty slow, which is probably why some found it boring. For Clannad After Story, I liked it just the same, if not more than the original Clannad. The series fixed its pacing issue and took a turn I didn't expect. It met all expectations I had for such a highly regarded series and there were moments that were truly inspirational. The episode where Tomoya was able to forgive his father was so touching, it made me want to express to my loved ones how much I appreciated them, and that episode made me realize how easy it was to be petty over the bad moments you share with them, it makes you forget all about the happy memories you created with them, along with the sacrifices that they made for you. Overall, After Story provided an experience like no other anime and although I don't consider it one of my favorite anime, it is an anime that definitely holds a special place in my heart and will stick with throughout life as I feel that I'll grow closer to the story as I go through life and experience many of the things Tomoya did.
