You really made me want to watch Grand Blue just by how much you praise it 🤩
It's a Seinen with an adult cast, so it's very much up my alley.
And, you're right! "Smoking behind the supermarket with you" is lovely & "Re:Zero S4" is absolutely magnificent.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm an avid reader and I still fall asleep in the middle of my books too.
I've just embraced it, by managing to even out the time spent reading with the time spent sleeping! Fingers crossed these tips can help.

• Location: Ignore anyone that says don't read in bed lol. I do most of my reading lying down (although others may prefer sitting in a chair or whatnot; it's up to you!) In the end, we all end up nodding off anyway haha. Location doesn't matter much when it comes to staying awake, so just be as comfortable as possible!
  
• Format: Figure out if you prefer print books or ebooks. It's worth a try to see if ebooks can keep you more engaged. For me, I 100% prefer ebooks, and always read on my ereader. (Unfortunately ereaders are costly, but it's the best reading experience for a digital-preference reader -- second best would be any mobile epub-reader app!) Or, if you already know you like physical books more, definitely stick with that; no need to switch!
  

After you have your most comfortable location and format decided...

• Start tracking: Honestly, writing down and timing the reading sessions helps a lot! Lol this sounds like a drag but it's a game changer. I found an online printable "reading sprint tracker" and I copy that into my notebook. Here's my example. As you can see, I still complete my books despite falling asleep for 4/5 of them 😂 (Most of the "pause" notes is me asleep...) And I mostly read on weekends, so I'm OK with my sleep schedule being slightly fucked 💀 Just go to sleep, because when you wake up again you're less likely to fall asleep from continuing the book LOL. Anyways, the "reading sprints" help keep you focused, because seeing an unfinished session can motivate you to complete it! Or else it remains uncompleted on the page to push you to do better next time!
  

I don't use that system for everything I read, but mainly books that need an extra push to finish. I'll be using this for the KnK LNs lol, since there's 4 of them. I have the series loaded on my ereader so I took a peek inside Vol 1 and I did like the tone of chapter 1! 👀 Shiki seems very interesting, and thanks for the heads-up about Movie 6 haha!


Rooting for you in your vocal & breathing training btw! ^_^ The amount of effort that goes into these covers is so staggering. Definitely take pride in what you've already accomplished because the retries paid off and OMG you really started with a challenge so everything is uphill from here, I think! It's a lot easier to be less self-conscious when the MAL community is so nice to the karaoke singers too! \o/

OMG you're reminding me of another thing I need to do - get into Kara no Kyoukai! I've literally had the light novels on my TBR for YEARS now 😅
I'm the type who has to read the source material first before watching an adaptation lol so that's stopping me from immediately binging the movies. I seriously hope the LNs are good! (I already know the movies will be worth a watch because ufotable animation always is!)

just popping in to thank you for the Kalafina recs! ^_^ I absolutely love Oblivious (gives me goosebumps every time!) & Sprinter but I hadn't listened to Melfen yet before your reply. It was so incredible, as usual from them! I need to carve out time to properly sit down and listen through Kalafina's entire discography lol.
