it sounds familiar, but not jumping out to me immediately. most of the people i commiserated with online were people i knew on a first name basis.

If you mean the manga, long story short, its a poor adaptation of a great story. The manga adapts the first Ryuusei no Rockman game, and while I havent played 2 or 3, 1 is such a great game. It has extremely fun gameplay and the characters in the story are very well written and the story itself tackles many heavy themes like, depression, emotional vulnerability, sociatal pressure, the list goes on. So instead of recreating a pretty good story, the manga decided to commit character assassination on every character and changed to tone drastically to the point where it doesn't feel like the same series. I didn't feel like hate reading it so I dropped it. Hope that answers your question if that makes sense. : D

Yeah. It kind of reminds me of Blade Runner from a first look. Ill probably try it out if I can find it. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more than the OVA.

I've got a box set of Urusei Yatsura DVD too, but i need the first box to start the series, quite enjoyed some of the movies though
