I'm fairly new to anime culture, being in my late 40s and just started reading and watching in earnest this year. Actually I think it was Netflix who brought me here, apart from the odd Studio Ghibli movie I think Pluto was the first series I watched. Then this year Netflix recommended Sousou no Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries to me and I was hooked.
I think my interests are more on the fantasy side, but I also enjoy characters which build a deep relationship, hence I even enjoy even middle school romances like Tsuki ga Kirei if they're well written. When characters really care for each other it's really interesting to watch their love language, especially when it involves preparing food for each other.
Speaking of food, that's what's great about Dungeon Meshi, Zatsu Tabi or even Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! for me as I enjoy eating new dishes very much and it's fun watching the characters enjoying it as well.
I'm looking forward to have a look into new worlds at my fingertip.

PS: So after having been around here for a while some notes on my scoring:
I'm easy to entertain, so if I have a laugh with a show or it touches me or shows me some interesting plot or characters, it's at least an 8. In case I'm looking forward to it every week it's at least a 9. If I think everyone should watch it it's a 10.
I give 7 or 6 if I can't connect to the characters or don't get the plot or the overall intention (looking at you, Neon Genesis Evangelion). Also I might enjoy some odd stuff as long as it looks like they gave a little thought as to why stuff happens in a story and if it makes sense in its own context, even if it's overall just entertaining (this is an excuse why I rate some cgdct or ecchi higher than most people around here).
So keep in mind, that's just my personal opinion, I still like to compare my profile to someone else's, maybe they also give high ratings to my favourites and then they might have something new and interesting on their list I could watch, too. Isn't that what this is also about, here?
