Anyway, when we get to see a spaceship burst into flames, how many people end up dying? This question usually gets ignored even by the viewers, so it's indeed quite nice when the story's narrative actually delves into explaining how large-scale events affect everyday lives of normal people.
I'm not sure, maybe I should give the remake a try. It's been 15 years since I've watched the original.
