As an experiment I've done twice , I did check how many shows a 2025 season had that are of web novel source
The number I checked reaches around say close to 50% of that is of these web novel sources
Hence isekai still being a trend to this day weirdly
And while I'm not watching modern shows since I wait for Blu-rays to watch rips of them if they got one and just watch the streaming version if it didn't get one still,like to watch finished shows after a lot of the hype is calmed down and I just watch old stuff since there's so much I just miss out on since I starting taking watching anime seriously around the mid-late 2010s (and most of the time , it's actually good stuff since I also look for stuff that fall within my interests and know I will like) , I can make observations and first impressions and yeah I can feel that there's too much isekai anime adaptations that don't seem to do that much interesting stuff being made (and I'm not one to care about originality so that should say something) and what do you know
Most of them come from the same web novel sources that companies milk for adaptations since it's a literal endless source that anyone with internet access can write on
So I feel like the already known-for-not-having-the-best-productions-behind-the-scenes-due-to-how-the-system-still-demands-deadlines TV anime industry is not getting better when it spams out adaptations of stuff that originate a literal endless source (that a lot of which have amateurish like writing which I'm not blaming on the authors mind you , just the fact production companies milk them without caring what the final product is like when they don't care about that fact)
Also people could hate light novels all they want but acting like these are a reason is imo false since these weren't LN first and it makes people forget that the medium used to have titles like Monogatari,Haruhi,Boogiepop,Full Metal Panic,Spice and Wolf and Toradora and act like it was always like this pisses me off and makes me wanna blame these web novel adaptations partially for)
I didn't know these were even sources stories got adapted from until one day I decided to look up the word Narou/Narou kei since I've heard used in discussions before and learning the web novel-to-adaptions pipeline blew my mind and not in a good way as you can tell

@nachomaxo1 they go through the same editing process to be a LN or manga to be published, so why does it matter so much to you?

@nachomaxo1 It looks like you've never watched anything newer than 2015 anyway besides like 3 spin offs for shows made in like 2005, so why are you always crying in the first place you arent even going to watch anything new to begin with.

Man I do hate how too many anime nowadays have to adapt from fanfiction.net ass sources that have no barrier to entry and no incentive to have prior writing experience like Narou,Alphapolis and such
(And people gaslighting you into thinking it's LNs to blame but really it's the companies that take advantage of sources similarly are to blame and it's lame)
