'Dark Gathering' Second Season in Production

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kenichi Kondou's Dark Gathering manga announced a second season on Tuesday, revealing the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured).

Hiroshi Ikehata (Tonikaku Kawaii) is returning to helm the second season at OLM.

Produced by OLM, the 25-episode first season of the television anime aired in two consecutive cours from Summer 2023 to Fall 2023. HIDIVE streamed the anime with English subs and dubs.

Kondou began serializing the horror supernatural manga in Jump SQ. in March 2019. The series went on a four month hiatus in December 2024 to prepare for a new story arc and was resumed on April 4 this year. Shueisha published the 18th volume on August 4. Dark Gathering has a cumulative 2.5 million copies of its volume in circulation.

Viz Media licensed the manga for English release in October 2022 and published the 15th volume on September 2, with the 16th volume planned for a November 4 release.

Nice to see this getting the sequel, I have yet to watch S1, but seen a ton of shorts and love the OST, we need more shows like this (as in scary shit).

It's not Tengoku Daimakyou so it's not the 2023 series I most fervently wanted and want to see a continuation of, this is for sure, but I'll still probably end up watching it even though I gave the first season a 6/10. Simply due to being a horror fan and it being horror that isn't terrible.

found it unwatchable and hard to take seriously because of the design, so color me surprised. i dropped it, let's see if i give it another shot.

Loved the first season. It had some legit scary parts. Really a fun watch so looking forward to this. I hope we get a complete adaption in the end.
