This show has been really into swordsplay.

Kinda interesting episode that isn't the typical academy, training, or other similar product. They also build a sort of character rivalry too, which I thought was a neat addition to the season. One of the more serious episodes without much clowning around.

We know Beryl is 45 in SS1, probably 46 right now, so I assume his father would be around 70.

We're eating pork today, guys!

Curuni, cute and violent. Loved her. But do you know who was kawaii, too?

Yup, Beryl. After getting praised for cutting the big pork monster.

Also, always remember: Mom always knows. Even the weather.

So, we're finally determining who's stronger: Beryl or Mewi's grandpa.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

“I guess I just accepted how things are” one of the saddest and worst things you can do as an adult. Never stop dreaming or searching for new heights! This seems like the arc where Beryl will finally start dreaming again, presumably after he loses a close fight to his dad. I think he will lose, but it’ll be close and he’ll be inspired to try to surpass his dad. Would give him a path to follow and a goal, as well as being a great dad to Mewi.

Speaking of Mewi, the way she’s really nervous about this because she wants Beryl to win is so cute. She’s adorable

Weather will be clear tomorrow, Mother knows best.
That sparring with Henblitz & Randrid was really good.
Everyone did a great job taking down all those boars.
Father VS Son is something I definitely want to see.

Nothing like watching the Ossan with my first cup of coffee. Watching them slice up some feral pigs and a bit of wooden sword action. Next week will be fun ๐Ÿ‘

the choreography seems a fair bit worse than what we had last season, but at least we are getting proper character growth now. assuming we dont status quo things, by the end of next episode, maybe beryl actually starts becoming a country bumpkin that becomes a sword master. what can i say, i absolutely loath the genre of hero to orphanage owner. i dont even know who started that trend but im going to say it was SAO
i hate slice of life with a burning passion, but healing anime may be worse.

The saberboar hunt was cool! I liked the tracking, the adventurer showing his swordsmanship when slaying the single charging boar, and Beryl's pumped up energy when fighting the 'boss' boar.

I didn't think there was any mystery about why Beryl's father left him the dojo though. I thought it was just a mix of nepotism and (mainly) because he's a very strong swordsman who everyone seems to revere ๐Ÿคท‍โ™‚๏ธ

I guess it might be something deeper than that, and maybe a "believe in yourself" moment for Beryl.
I kind of hope it's not too much of a theme on ageing though (if his father loses because he's becoming too old ๐Ÿฅฒ). That kind of thing is saaaadddddddd, although I know it's a fact of life nonetheless.

I didn't think this episode was gonna be this good! Not only did we get a bit of a duel between the Knight and Adventurer, Beryl went 1-on-1 with the Boss boar and found some of his drive.

On the other hand they keep teasing this duel between Beryl and his dad. I'm hoping they're actually gonna do it and not fake us out at the last minute like they did when he was fighting that shadow creature

Really enjoyable episode with Beryl and company taking down some boars (I hear that Texas has a wild boar problem, maybe Beryl and company can help out there ๐Ÿ˜‰). Anyways, I thought that Beryl and his father were going to spar in this episode but instead it looks like it'll happen in the next one. As far as who I think is going to win, I think Beryl will pull it off and it will make him realize that he still has it.

Mothers have superpowers in all universes

I was thinking the exact same thing when Curuni went head-to-head with the boar. Glad she explained her recklessness afterwards. And Beryl also reprimanded her for it. But damn, girl is strong!

Pretty amazing fight between Henblitz and Randrid. So much so that even the two old men are itching to go.

Was expecting more stabbing instead of slashing. Boar hide should be pretty thick for slashing to do much.

And we end off with a WTH remark. Lol

Nice episode.

Great episode, I feel Beryl. I'm no master swordsman, but I also have regrets about the past and wish things went differently. Every episode again I'm amazed how well the CGI blends with the 2D, also the 3D models have really expressive faces as well. Next episode Beryl against his father, can't wait!

First season was very nice but this one has been very meh instead.
First season "my father wants me to find a wife" was actually fun. The repeated "I'm old" of this one is just boring. I mean, he said it in first season, but it wasn't as boring as now.

Beryl vs dad next episode! Hype! Can't wait. I expect it will end with a draw since anime grandpa's are OP badasses, or maybe Beryl will surprise us!

I honestly hope that, after we get the fight between Beryl and his Dad, that we get Mewi calling him Grandpa and Grandma when they leave

I never expected to be a deeper reason about to why he gave the dojo to Beryl, might be related to the Empire in the North Border, since it was mentioned on the previous episode (but perhaps it was just a world building moment)

Every episode, I find myself having at least few minutes of experiencing a narrative enigma.

Am I the only one who is getting thrown off by all the fantasy and magic elements? I keep wondering if Beryl truly has no connection to magic.

I half expected Kinera Fine showing him defensive magic to lead to something. Then there was the monster core. Idk, it's probably just due to the overabundance of shows that follow the route of, "Look at this magical, fantastical world; find out what hidden power the MC has."

Regardless, after 17 episodes, it's refreshing that a wholesome show still has me looking forward to seeing the progression. Looking forward to seeing if time has been kind to Moldea or not, and how that unfolds with the whole dramatic irony surrounding Beryl's cluelessness.

Beryl worried about being too old, when he's actually in his prime. Needs to see it.

Would say this episode was boaring

Sorry - couldn’t resist the pun

I actually find this anything but boring. This show really hits me sometimes - maybe because I’m an old man now.

This is my favorite show of the season right now. Not sure why more people aren’t watching other than the Amazon prime curse

The last few episodes had been full of mundane stuff. Looks like Beryl will duel his father soon. He's definitely stronger now. Though they are both past their peaks.
