What should I watch from the anime?

I already asked in reddit but I got no answer. I’ve finally decided to start Bleach and I'm going for the manga because I’ve heard the anime differs in a bad way, but I’m still a bit curious about it.

I think I’ll watch the final season, but what about the older anime? Is there anything I shouldn't miss? Any fights, emotional moments, or anything like that?

DISCLAIMER: It seems there is a confusion. I'm not asking for anime original content, I'm asking for what the anime adapted the best.

If you want to watch older Bleach I think you should at least watch Gotei 13 vs Arancars, Ichigo vs Aizen, Ichigo vs Ulquiorra. It's mostly of filler just skip them and watch you ain't gonna regret it.

Just from skimming through the episode list, it seems like the filler episodes are very poorly placed as in they happen in the middle of the big arcs

This is due to Bleach having mostly big overarching arcs ever since the soul society arc leaving no room to squeeze in filler, but this is mostly due to the unsustainable format of the old long-running battle shounen anime, and not kubo tite's own fault

That said, the one filler arc that was mentioned/praised by kubo tite in the physical volume's author's notes is the filler in the beginning of the hueco mundo arc if I remember correctly

Sorry I can't really be more of a help given that I've not watched the anime pre-TYBW

But from a few episode thumbnails, I see that there are stuff like anime original characters for

or something like that

I personally don't think fillers are worthless since they can still be generally entertaining even if they aren't really canon, it's more so how jarring the cut from the main story to the filler due to flawed system I mentioned earlier

I mean just watch the whole show with or without fillers, whatever you want. If you just gonna watch some parts that they "adapted well" then just don't bother at all with the anime.

Hard to say, then.

If talking about the original Anime, there really is not anything that is "adapted the best" from the Manga, as the quality production of the Anime is just overall not very high and the pacing slow, and that the best episodes literally are fillers. However, there is an amazing ambiance with the musics and the sound designings that goes extremely well with the character designs and tone. The voice acting is also not bad. Considering this, you should look at whole Arcs you liked or single fights. The Thousand-Year Blood War is incredibly adapted in the soon-to-end Season tho, so definitely that.

Oh man, I remember those old days in 2008 when I started watching it. I'd say that you need to watch it completely. The anime is epic, no need to read the manga

Manga is good enough. If you enjoyed a fight in the manga, you can go ahead and watch it in the anime as well. Otherwise just stick to the manga. And for the Tybw arc, these new anime is obviously better as they are adding additional content and maybe a different and better ending (rumoured and not confirmed tho).
