I sure didnt expect this one after how brutal review scores were, but I guess it was profitable enough? The CGI sword work was pretty impressive, and some of the characters were at least somewhat compelling, so I'm definitely looking forward to more, though I feel the novelty might start to wear thin if the story continues like this for another season.
Well, I suppose thats not a concern for an audience member like me to have

Otherwise it likely wouldn't have had a second season.

Personally, I just hope we get some male students too in the second season. The MC has a delightful personality, but the plot contrivance of nearly all of them being women is kind of starting to feel a bit icky and pandering.

@fast2611 If more men were introduced it would allow the MC to actually date someone, instead of pretending he doesn't understand what flirting is. That is far and away the least believable part of the show, especially when he has excellent situational awareness. Will be interesting to see if that pans out.

i hope they double down with the realistic swordplay more in season 2, it only felt like about 40% of it was done like that, and the rest was just average anime sword fighting.

Tho i did like Beryl as a character, but a harem with students who he know even before they started hitting puberty is... weird. I don't fuck with harem anime at all for several reasons. So far i liked how he doesn't make a move on anyone and that other male characters and stuff get to interact with his students and stuff. I also would like to see the conflict they setup between nobility and the church explored more in season 2, since they set that up in season 1 with the ending episode and the previous ones when they showed a currupt bishop zombifying people. Its legit a good fantasy idea to explore stuff like this "what if the fantasy world that has magic actually had Catholic Church that acts the same as it did in reality but now there is magic and its harder to justify the atrocities it commits"

Also i really found it nice how nice of a dad Beryl is to Mewi

It was Okey but not great.
