Wait. So the 99th (and final) chapter is just a bonus chapter of them doing the hot pot thing again? Okay.
So, this is the end. What a journey it's been. I watched the anime back in 2014, and it was just 2 seasons long and ended in a cliffhanger. It became one of my favourite anime and I have rewatched it multiple times. It sadly never got more seasons. And now 8 years later, after giving up hope of there ever being a third season, I finally read the manga adaptation and got to experience the rest of the story. Apparently, the ending is different from the light novel's? I wonder how much the manga adaptation even followed the light novel's story (which is the actual canon story). It's a shame that the light novel never got an official English release. I'd like to know how different the light novel is from the manga adaptation.
I can only assume that after graduating, Kodaka and Sena got together. But I really don't care and I'm glad they didn't show it. It's just supposed to be about a club about making friends, after all. Kodaka wanted Sena over Yozora because she's hot as fuck and had big tits. I'd want to be with a girl like Sena too. I'd also choose the girl with the biggest jugs, assuming they're natural and not stupid breast implants, and even better if her boobs were as beautiful as Sammy Braddy's when she was in her 20s (Sammy Braddy, when she was in her 20s, has the best tits I've ever seen). Yozora is a bitch anyway. Damn, I wish Sena mentioned what her bra size is.
So after reading the manga adaptation, I don't really like this series that much anymore. It's no one longer of my favs. I dislike Yozora now the same reason why I dislike Vanessa from Black Clover. The stuff that wasn't adapted in the anime is just not fun. The first 2 seasons of the anime is fun to watch. Then when I continue the story by reading the manga, I don't have a good time with it like I did with the anime. Basically, it has a "party's over" or "fun's over" vibe when getting to the stuff that the anime didn't adapt. I was expecting more fun when I decided to see more of the story with the manga, but didn't really find it fun. All the fun stuff were already adapted in the first 2 seasons, it seems. At least it didn't have something annoying in it like the Is This a Zombie? manga adaptation, which has a moment in the manga adaptation that REALLY annoyed me.
The anime is also an ecchi that showed the girls' nipples in the uncensored version, so I am very disappointed that the manga adaptation is not an ecchi like the anime, and doesn't show nipples, specifically Sena's nipples (except for one chapter, where one of her nipples was actually shown). The second season of the anime has no ecchi in it, and a scene that would've shown a naked Sena was cut in the anime. The manga adaptation showed that scene, but it didn't show her nipples. I am so annoyed by both the second season of the anime and the manga adaptation for doing that. But yeah, Sena confessing ruined the series tbh. But it's nice to finally get some closure and be done with a series so many years after I finished season 2 of the Haganai anime for the first time. I'll definitely continue rewatching the first 2 seasons of the anime. There's just something about the first 2 seasons that I really like. One of the funniest anime IMO. That moment when Rika was acting like a tsundere towards Kodaka (in the English dub of the anime) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and I remember laughing out loud at that moment. So I am somewhat said that the story is over. Haganai will forever hold a special place in my heart. |
