| Beautiful story, but overrated, episodes 7,8,9 were way better. The ending was too predictable but also one of the best episodes of the series. |

| As the end credits began to roll, I was prepared to come to this discussion thread to praise that we never actually find out who the letters were for. I thought that was a neat way to deconstruct the formula that the previous episodes built up and that it was a way to make this world feel more realistic. Much like in real life, we don't always get the answers to our questions. However, while I think that would've been a neat subversion of expectations, what we actually got was so, so much better. I am still legit struggling to breathe from how choked up the big reveal got me. I can think of many anime episodes that have completely emotionally destroyed me, but few have effected me quite this much. Bravo, Violet Evergarden, my glasses lenses are stained with the tears that I've been crying for the past five minutes, LOL. |

| Damn ... that had me crying. You know from the start with how the episode was constructed that the mother was slowly dying and the letters were for her daughter. So to see the daughter slowly realize things though, knowing Violet struggled too and seeing her break down at the end ... yeah that got to me. "Are these letters more important than me?" "Nothing's more important to me than you, Anne" |

| One of my favourite episodes from any anime, ever. Whenever I'm about to rewatch Violet this is the episode I have to mentally prepare the most for. Love it. |
| To think that after Violet's conflict has somewhat been paid off, and the series hits you with a tearjerker the episode after feels like the best worst emotional heel I've ever experienced. Mind you, as I'm writing this digital letter, I've been binging the show straight, so my eyes are already being strained while watching Anne being somewhat annoying throughout this episode. But without mincing words, the letters that her mother wrote over Anne's growth truly broke my walls. Yes, a mix of emotional tears and my eyes already being red-screwed, I had to get up my chair to wash my crying face. Though this is not the first time I've seen the concept of sending letters on future dates, it still struck me since it is motherly love. And this comes after other episodes tackling themes that are close to what happened in this episode, but the story of Anne and her mother really hits it home. To think that all the letters that her mother were clearly suffering through will bear results of her love over the years truly means something to me as a viewer. And even Violet can't hold back, considering Anne truly is a daughter that is loved, sometimes we have to be patient to children that can't handle big words yet. I've heard rumors and legends about this specific episode, and as I watch this as my 3700th episode in MyAnimeList, it is now part of a history. And to truly live up to what people say about it, Episode 10 separates itself to truly be a very special episode for Violet Evergarden. |

| What a sweet episode this one was, it was predictable but still very sad I felt really bad for Ann clearly all she wanted was to with her Mother, but at the same time her Mother is dying slowly so, she wanted to do something for her in the future so that she won't feel lonely without her :( I'm VERY happy that she got all the letters and she got to spent time with her Mom before she passed away. She soo cute man, she doesn't deserve what happened to her. Also, she a VERY realisticlly written kid character I can't believe some people in this thread hated her or found her annoying. Some people are just heartless I guess  My girl Violet showed so much emotion this episode which I don't blame her at all and she WAS holding back tears when she was talking to Ann or at least thats what I thought. I LOVE how she's smiling so much more now  Another great EP for Violet Evergarden , I still think EP9 was the best, but this one is great as well   |
