| Ok officially Fukunaga is one my of favorite characters, she reminds me of myself at my old job having to deal with the stupidity of my fellow coworkers. Like the old opening them better though. |

Honestly comments complaining about how stupid these three are only see things that way in hindsight, if you see things from their perspective you'll find that what they did makes sense, regardless of whether or not they believed Yokoya's men, depositing 300 millions to your personal account is a huge advantage in terms of winning, you'd need to look at the bigger picture in order to notice the psychological trap behind it, they didn't think about the country's account because they're selfish, plain and simple, of course this makes them arguably worse as people, but I personally find their behavior believable, it's selfishness and short-sightedness, not stupidity.
Also tune in next week for one of the most brilliant episodes in the series.

| @DiabloMask Except it's not going into their personal 3rd country accounts. It's going to their night accounts which go to country of night at end of the game. They weren't offered any special compensation for helping with this scheme. The motivation was 'to piss off Yokoya' and that's it. They did all this for no gain for themselves. The writer must've forgot or something. Or maybe all 3 were lying via ommision about their compensation, but somehow, they convinced everyone that it was merely a 'silly mistake' when there was no gain whatsoever outwardly. Also really dumb writing-wise. |

@LeaseDue in akiyama's plan, he said to offer the traitor compensation money. yokoya uses the same plan but before akiyama, but the jesus dude never mentioned about the compensation money. did he? i wonder what the 3 were thinking.
about the rules, it was explained in episode 11 under an analogy "you have to smuggle money before the war starts.", the dealer asks what happen once war starts and Fukunaga replies "it becomes enemy's money".

| @Rixuel Yeah. I suspect the anime forgot some really important scenes from the manga or something. They didn't offer compensation. Just that they wanted to piss off Yokoya. Makes the writing looks so dumb. Like everyone got amnesia or something Yes. The rules were explained very early. But clearly, everyone seems to have forgotten that only 3rd country and own country accounts go to them. Here, they are offered money to go into enemy account. Or maybe all 3 were lying via ommision about their compensation, but somehow, they convinced everyone that it was merely a 'silly mistake' when there was no gain whatsoever outwardly. I really despise those people who would pick up a show & rate it on basis of just few episodes without letting the show laying it's foundation. Moreover, Liar game definitely did well enough even in first 3 episodes to remain more interesting than lot of isekai & harem garbage. Hopefully the score would improve by the end. |

| @LeaseDue Jesus how dumb and unconscious LG haters continue to be *yawns (You know even if he hids my replies, someone reply to my post so dude sees everytime he open his mouth how smart he think he is it backfires on him miserably.) So the thing is why they think NPCs are dumb - because previously manga author explained Akiyama's plan as to AIM TO LOSE as opposed as aim to win and there are two things in play here. 1) Only S-rated players (Yokoya & Akiyama) figured it. Like Yokoya played off the fact Rat Scheme was figured out, Blonde tells everyone how he rules of fear - and that exact moment Night members come clean and ask Day members to help Yokoya lose. 2) 300 mil guys did it before they heard Akiyama explanation the next Rounds after Blonde tell everyone of Yokoya. Yeah, if it were Fukunaga/Nao or even Baseball guy they'd suspicious, but Night particularly targetted the bottom of NPC stack who bought the story which was very well crafted for them. So to sum up on this stage Yokoya played entire Day team (not only NPCs itself, but Akiyama was dumb in dark too) as his fiddle. OK, so whats with the 1.1 BIL guy, who might look the stupidest? Now here's where money Psychology comes into the play. Yes, he heard of Akiyama's plan by aiming to lose. But what hes actually thinking - he is stealing resources for his team. Keep in mind, no one of those 3 knew they weren't alone in the scheme. This one guy is probably most unredeemable, but he just stole cash for the sake of it because it's such a big amount of cash (and he works in finance, close to big cash, but getting zilch of it). That also believable because 1.1 bil yen my dudes is 10+ mil usd which he deposits on his own card. It's essentially the same thing with Kikuzawa who fulfilled his dream by playing a bully, this small financial clerk guy clearly didn't care whether he is helping his team / crumbling Yokoya, he just stolen the biggest amount he could afford in his entire life. Now the things is - those who criticize Day team betrayers are just a narrative PEASANTS because NPCs are considered dumb every game out there to fall for the tricks as the regular people they are. But their psychological profile is top-notch and all they moves are clearly motivated by their character and that's what writing NPCs is all about. The most funniest thing is Theres an extra spin on this why it makes sense to grab the money. |

| @LeaseDue What do you mean no gain? The 300 million is added to the player's personal account, meaning they have more money to spare while playing smuggler/inspector, if they've been playing the game normally that'd be a huge advantage in terms of winning the game, before Akiyama brought up the importance of the countries' accounts that was all that mattered to the players. In other words what these three did was helping the team win, but the twist they couldn't see is that it was losing them money by the end. |

| @DiabloMask Isn't it weird when not a single one of them told the team about their amazing win back then. "It was for the team" wasn't it? <- not actually because they somehow forgot about a whole 1/3 of the rules. And somehow they all forgot THAT part of the rules and not the other 2/3rds? Not to mention that money in the NIGHT account in not their money. Having more to smuggle doesn't mean anything. The jesus guy was banking on 'revenge against Yokoya' as a motivator which makes no sense. They are also somehow surprised when Akiyama said they could enter money into the atms when they already did so. It's like the writer forgot or made things up as he goes. |

What do you mean no gain? The 300 million is added to the player's personal account, meaning they have more money to spare while playing smuggler/inspector, if they've been playing the game normally that'd be a huge advantage in terms of winning the game, before Akiyama brought up the importance of the countries' accounts that was all that mattered to the players.
In other words what these three did was helping the team win, but the twist they couldn't see is that it was losing them money by the end.

| @DiabloMask They conveniently forgot about a 1/3rd of the rules yet, perfectly remembered the other 2/3. Notice how they DIDN'T tell their team about it. You know, to celebrate the 'massive team win'? Without telling anyone, they literally can't cash out all the money cuz they take equal turns, <- another thing they conveniently forgot. It's like the writer made this up as he went because in hindsight, it made no sense for all 3 of them to not tell their team about the 'big win'. Actually, this manga was apparently somewhat episodic, so it's possible the writer really did make this up as he went. So it was decent reading the manga as it got updated, but when reading it all as a whole, it's full of plot holes. And notice how the jesus guy put it. The extra 'not actual win' money was just a side benefit Which isn't actual winnings. "I want your help to piss off Yokoya" was their main selling point somwhow. Again, all 3 of them acted the EXACT same way. I can understand 1 or 2. |

Had the exact same line thought about Sanda show. What a sweltering hot fucking unredeemable piece of garbage that was!
On a serious LG note: Yokoya is super likeable even more than AkiNao imo because he makes normies hemorrhage after he stomps them in a cold blood. Fukunaga and dealers are super fun, too. Those who drool over teenagers might disagree though, haha

| @EscapismToTheMax Ah, so here's something - Sanda, to me, was a masterpiece. 10/10, perfect score. For me, it captured the sense of wonder being erased from the world by the system, questioning sexuality, living in a reality shaped by fear and indoctrination, totalitarianism and, for whatever reason, the outside world continuing on. It captures the perfect mood for me. I have two kids - very little - and I wonder the themes Sanda presents regularly in a not so distant future. How do we fight the system? How do we instill joy? What do we do to fight screens and brainwashing by the government while maintaining a family? Liar Game's just... shallow. You can't really dig deeper into it except, "everyone here is dumb but {{ main_character }}," and it's a failure. Sanda's an unfair comparison - your thoughts may differ - when Liar Game is discussed. One teaches you something, anything at all - the other just... is here. |

| @FoggyRadiation kudos to explanation, I respect that. Liar Game teaches you domination/cooperation, doubt/trust and games/tournament design/strats/finance/thinking out of the box. It's not shallow, it's a Gambling Bible instead, but the catch is that FROM YOUR SPECIAL REQUIREMENT you need to be ready for that, to be somewhat aligned and what not. Ofc once you have children you look in a different direction. I felt Sanda is full of characters I couldn't give two fucks about where everything is just a plot device poorly executed. I always cackled at how the series asked to be taken seriously when there's a class of goddamn bloodied SERIAL KILLERS in that school, but yeah, here I don't challenge your view. I mean who gives a second thought everyone in Sanda is much dumber than LG NPCs (adults and teenagers alike, the whole premise of mc henshin is laughable) if it brings the vibes you need in a such darker times. So yeah I don't mind people using anime like that at all. |

| @LeaseDue OK, so you think you're any intelligent (forget smart, lol) when you got sucked in a blanant bait TWICE more so when the second time you were WARNED about it and were offered a generous fuck away escape route. Everything went according to the plan then. Let's dissect what you got yourself into. 1. Ragetyping. How much do you know about the REAL world at all :) I give you one free hint, pal, there's a reason why outside of all posters it's only dumb LG haters who don't know. Poker is all about Math & Psychology and reading opponents hands in order to force making them calls they soon regret. Doesnt ring a beIl?
It's like the writer forgot or made things up as he goes.
| @LeaseDue You're like a sports fan watching an aerial view of a game and getting annoyed that players don't see the ball the way you see it, were you actually aware of the country's account and wondering why the players wouldn't focus on that to make money by the end? Maybe you're as smart as Akiyama and have figured it out, but most people do miss such important rules when they're adapted to the game's routine, it's a matter of perspective, these three were still thinking that they needed to win by smuggling money, I wasn't saying that they had good intentions for the team, I was explaining how depositing 300 millions seemed to be beneficial for them, and technically for the team, regardless of how believable the revenge scheme was. |

I'm not even the first one you lost to so hard you needed to start talking about some children's card game. Does that children's card game have something to do with doodling on your face and paintng your nails? I guess they do facepainting a lot in Kindergarten. And you really keep digging your own grave. Did you read your own link? You need both reading and math skills to understand that it doesn't support you at all. It does the opposite. This is why I question both your language and math skills. Also, I might've won a bet. To beat you so bad you start larping about poker, again. Thanks. Ok, come again or see you next week. You bringing your own poker cards this time? You claimed A LOT omits to manga Contraband, but didn't manage to name a single one. As none would support your stupid bullshit claim regardless. You think everyone just let you slip on that and would be happily on talking with you on some other delulu
Well, as a personal rule, anywhere on forums I don't speak at all to opponents who just died and afterwards seek a resurrection. I mean you claimed extra mistakes on reply, but I don't bite. It's free for all both ways fellows: if someone else deems it fun worth slamming you further at any point I don't mind. The funniest part I have from your pathetic attempts (really dude, it's not for you, you degrade every post significantly) at punching is that you are offended on me claiming poker.
Good, it means I got away from sitting on a pile of dumb LG haters' corpses 😝 it's all jokes and fun anyway, but you don't know your own game. You jumped into the MAL ratings beef so you thought your hater buddy can be defended and not lose face any more that he had lost already. Nah, ain't happening here, we are playin outs.
I'm not putting bullets into the dead opponent so you two can start doin a cushion team work, and let more haters join the fray. I keep the gun loaded for exact reason other haters know they'd be hit on a jump. On any unfounded jump. No skirting around like you are doing with the blatant smurf account. Who even cares you exist, you just serve as a rag doll to show how bad it hurts in LG threads when you spill shit without having a second thought on it.
Dismissed. Let's see whether Russian guy shitted himself now, too. I mean he is the smartest in your pair, previous time with me at least he've shown he knows why and how to fold when he's forced to. Next thing you learnt why folding is your ONLY option after all your history in LG threads and we are back to having a nice day. Finally.
Ps: sorry to all other readers for that bloody mess. Necessary evil.
| @EscapismToTheMax I can name differences. But I thought a 'genius' like you would already know. | Holy fuck, this cast cannot get stupider… right? Fucking right? At least, Nao is being moderately useful finally. And by moderately, I mean slightly better then a brick, and simply a tool who listens to everything that Akiyama tells her to do. Show is still so infuriating to watch just due to the amount of stupid that is on display every single episode, and once again limited development on the main girl. Manga readers continue to disappoint on this one. |

Go look at any completed show's member/rated ratio. it's around 50% -> Defeated by 'logic and critical thinking' and simply evidence based conclusions.
Why did you lie? Are you some 'lame troll'?
I also noticed that your review history implies you lose a lot of these. Is losing your fetish or something?
Judging by your review history, you sure lose a lot of these huh? It has to be on purpose, right?
I may have overrated your literacy rate though. That scale was meant for adults, not children. That was my mistake and I apologise.
Predictably defeated yet again by 'logic and critical thinking'. Shining example of the dunning kruger effect. "If I can't win, I have to flame."
Ready for more? Or will we see you next week?
P.S: You keep referencing the manga. This isn't the manga. This show, in case you lack 'logic and critical thinking', omits a lot form the manga. Which partially causes all the issues. This is why I don't actually argue with your points, because you have none. I do argue with others though, because they actually want a discussion.
P.P.S: Why would I block you? You are like the jester of this forum. Why'd you think everyone here keeps you around? Tantrums are cute, but only if you remain fresh.

| @Lucifrost I gave an example in an earlier comment regarding a scene at the start of episode 1 where the LG invitation didn't have it's T&C outside the box of money yet causes the T&C to apply the moment you open the box. It felt totally off so I checked the manga and indeed, the manga DID have the T&Cs out there. Meaning Nao reasonably messed up by not reading rather than getting conned unavoidably which was the case in the show. Completely changes the tone of the show right off the bat. If there is a such a big tone altering difference right at the start (that woldn't even need additional run time), it's reasonable to assume much more later on. Most of my arguments involve denying points of details made by manga viewers which I often fail to see in the anime adaptation even on slow mo rewatch. Hence, my conclusion. The anime simply didn't have a lot of the details that would've explained or foreshadowed a lot of important plot points. It could be a runtime limitation. We would never know. |

| @Kyou_Ryuu Active haters summon more haters, and ofc youd arrive here as soon as the next day, lol. It was all but running super smoothly since you left so don't get me this shit about it getting worse. It's just a usual stuff as one can easily follow Haters are too dumb to understand they are too dumb to understand, period. The Russian guy who stirred the whole shitbang is sitting it out bamboozled cause they are proven to fail even outside subject topic (Mal ratings and poker), so its not even close to the situation with Nao hate AGAIN. Yes, I know the only thing you care is running up to blatant haters cause as the advocate for they feelings but I don't care man. Its the culmination arc ffs, it's going off exactly as expected, hahaha. I think having Lord @Rixuel makes all the difference here anyway, he's super chill, so I'm more than happy here as a manga reader. I mean I watch Contraband at least twice each weak in original and now also added English dub to the mix, so it's not like I care for any haters but those who had an audacity to come and get it for a second time, lol, oops. You see I'm so generous I even let the other repeater guy whos trying to run the whole "Manga readers disappoint blabla" a free pass. Why? As long as it's not the trend, who the fuck cares of what Guilty Crown shameless anime fanboy (Yeah among all other dumb anime shounen shit to be fan of this simp chosen this long forgotten piece of turd) thinks of Liar Game manga readers. We don't bite it just for the beef no matter how you try to spin it shamelessly, it's all about building a community. There's a good fucking reason I don't jump out my pants and don't go into dissing shows I think are utterly dumb / dump in their respective threads even when I do hatewatch. Its because of the communities, pal. Haters are really miserable in life if they are seeking for attention in communities they don't belong to start with, that's the only truth. So in fact they should be VERY grateful to LG community for the spotlight they were given. So don't expect we'd argue the same stuff with you all over again. We might restart in the fall for different anime which succeeds LG - Junket Bank, but for now the court is closed, huehue |

LeaseDue said: @Rixuel Yeah. Also really dumb writing-wise. Each player receives 300 million at the start of the game. When these three players each receive an additional 300 million from the opposing team, they end up with 600 million. This gives a larger margin. Even if they fail at some smuggling operation, technically they can still make more money. Considering Akiyama's plan, this also means that their profit will be greater after the traitor takes all the money, since he will take a larger amount than before. |

| @LeaseDue Let's say Nao read the T&C and doesn't open the box, what's next? There would be no Liar Game rounds and the story would end already, making it a one-shot manga/anime. Also, let's say if Nao doesn't open the box, they could send someone unknown to forcefully open her box. She would have no choice but to participate against her own will. This would simply stalling or make the story a bit longer for nothing I think. |

| I really think that Akiyama knew something like this could happen. That's why he revealed his plan to find the traitor to help them move their money to the third country's deposit. Now that everything is clear and everyone knows they're in the red, he can finally gain their trust and move forward with his strategy to win the game. Unlike Yokoya, who relies on fear and manipulation,Akiyama seems to be trying to unite everyone and earn their cooperation. At least, that's what I think the best thing to do. |

@EscapismToTheMax I think his question was related to all the money in the ATM and transfer them all to other ATM if I guess correctly. With less rounds, it looks harder and less unpredictable to smuggle 100 million through the inspection phase after all the money go to another ATM
Rixuel said: I think his question was related to all the money in the ATM and transfer them all to other ATM if I guess correctly. Yes, you got me right. And if it's actually possible to transfer money from ATM to ATM, then the other team wouldn't really be able to do anything because the money is tied to the person who deposited it. I took another look at episodes 11 and 15, and I have to say, I think it's worded very vaguely. Maybe I missed something, but so far I haven't seen anything that would actually contradict that. That said, one thing does come to mind: that you can't cross the border with money?! But that would contradict what the other team did. |
