I NEED SEASON 2 NOW NOW NOW Σ(っ °Π” °;)っ

Gotta say...out of the 3 girls we have met so far this season, Arashiyama is best girl by far now and her declaration to Gero made me giddy (´β–½`Κƒβ™‘Ζͺ)
Really hope that those 2 end up together but who knows...

As for the rest of the episode, excited to see what the branch family members get up to. Surely they won't try and hinder Gero from finding a bride...right?
But love the design of the branch family character, got a feeling his obsessed with Gero as well.

Anyway, for now I don't have to warn myself when thinking Kinosaki looks stunning every week, but I cannot wait for the 2nd season!

decent ending, only bad things is that they created a cliff hanger at the end of last episode then kind of threw it away

@Milkymalk do you really believe that at the end Gero would be willing to continue to the poison master bloodline ?

That might have been his idea from the start to prevent his sister from getting married to a guy he choose to find a wife. But I bet he would just settle on leading a peaceful wife with his future wife and kid instead of being a part of this family.

@Niwaka-Samurai Well you said "producing a heir problem solved", and the reason for an heir is continuing the bloodline so his sister can stay with her girlfriend. Failing to do so would fall back on her. So no, adopting a child would solve nothing.

The Hammies were highkey the highlight of the latter half xD

Really liking the series overall, even tho the battle shounen elements aren't exciting enough to consider this great. Or let's say it's not leaning as much into battle shounen as I would've liked. But that's ok, since the waifu and pseudo-harem elements as well as the comedy make up for that. And the production was quite nice.

7/10

Looking forward to S2
@FMmatron Same. Really enjoyed it, i think it has a little bit of everything. Great show and could be one of the big franchises of this generation if done right.
I liked it very much, but i feel the final episode didnt feel like a final episode.

ofc they're dragging this out, Arashiyama already cleared this plot but ofc they have bs reasons not to go ahead so the author will milk his manga for 1000+ chapters

I'm anime only but right now, Arashiyama x Gero is top tier

I don't get the ship with Mei, not even about Mei being a dude but it's bcoz their chemistry is platonic and that of a parent and child, Gero is the kid, Mei the parent, cringe

Got busy with the World Cup and totally forgot this final episode aired.
Well it wasn't especially good, I was hoping for something to happen with Mei
so register my disappointment.
Why is this called Marriagetoxin exactly? The title is baffling- it sort of made sense regarding Mei but "Yakuza Matchmaker" would be a more appropriate title. This was a fine production, but it really wasn't what I was looking for.

I was a bit afraid that this will be an one-off adaption, whose only purpose would be the promotion of the manga. But thankfully we got a last episode that offers no closure AND an announcement for a second season.

As reader of the manga series, I am glad that this got a proper high quality adaption. The whacky combat is at times as much nonsense as in the original, but the series more than compensates with humor, interesting characters, good art and fluid animation (after experiencing tbate and opm3, I fear for the worst everytime I see an announcement for an adaption of a series I like).

Anyway, Kinosaki needs to win, no matter his/her/their sex. Considering how well the author portrays most of Gero's potential brides, I am pretty sure this will go towards a harem route anyway.

I'm so glad this show is already renewed for a season 2. The characters are lovable, the action is awesome, and that exchange between Kimie and Gero this episode was so very sweet.

Tonako showing up, carrying her clan members, and then leaving after offering to make Gero her pet was a memorable first impression. I guess words been going around about Gero's antics!

I have to say this finale was on fire with the excellent line deliveries, so many good exchanges that I can't pick a favorite. It was just a total delight to hear.

Teruaki going after Kinosaki also makes for an enticing cliffhanger. I'll be waiting to see how that gets resolved.

I'm gonna be so disappointed if he doesn't end up with Kimie. Kimie is truly best girl in every regard. She's sexy, confident, and super down to earth (and has mommy milkers lmao). I mean, even Gero got to be himself around her at the end. It was so sweet <3 I like the water master too tbh, she's also a cutie.

Piichi is cute in his own way with how in love he is with his gf.

The actual head of the beast clan is scary as fuck though. She literally looks evil and even made Gero shiver in his boots lmao but she's sexy in her own way too

Damn why did it have to end like that?? How do they not realize that Mei is actually helping Gero??? They're so damn impatient.

I'm really looking forward to the next season! I enjoyed this one so much than I thought I would. I literally almost didn't pick it up. The characters, action, and production quality were all great. Gero's character development has also been really impressive. I'm gonna miss this one a lot, overall 9/10 for me

Arashiyama is a very charming character. She might be the best female character in the show so far. However, when it comes to a duo, Gero and Kinosaki is certainly the best. Like siblings, or like a couple.

Nice animation and characters are overall fine, too (bug master and piichi are my fav) - but the abilities are over the top, even for a shounen
it has some Sakamoto Days vibe but way more exaggerated
furthermore plot armor is strong with this one
and Kinosaki being a femboy is disturbing - DO NOT LIKE

i'd give it 5-6/10

It has been a long time since I watched a shounen anime and watching this show reminded me all over again why I stopped enjoying the shounen genre. Same old battle tropes, crazy villains acting like edgy teens, weird family history/clans, dumb powers, ridiculous fights, flashback before a villain gets defeated to sympathize with the character, villains having a change of mind and joining the MC trope, power of friendship trope and the list goes on and on. Tbh, I'm tired of all of this after watching so much shounen during my childhood.

Anyway, I decided to watch this mainly for the potential romance. But it was over 90% shounen and only a tiny bit focus on actually interacting with the marriage candidates. Not to mention the best girl in the series is not even a real girl lmao. Personally, I'm not really looking forward to season 2. Overall 6/10.

Solid series and a solid season for a season 1. Fell in love with every single one of the candidates including kinosaki cuz who cares anymore, if theres a hole theres a way. Arashiyama was honestly a rly great love interest, even when last episode kinda made her feel a bit weak for me, by the end, she ultimately proves why shes a goated candidate and like cmon, GIRL CONFESSED INFRONT OF HIM, but in the end didnt see herself as worthy for him, which is so honorable for her. And she finally got her own ed which honestly stole it for me with the hamsters joining in LMAO. Man she is so fucking beautiful

The last scene with the relationship counseling was heartwarming, definitely showed geros growth throughout the whole of season 1 up to this point, but what sold me is defo water master being a taxi LMAO. But there is no doubt that she will end being a candidate too like, THAT ED SHOT PROVES IT SHE WILL BE ONE and plus she is a mega tomboy baddie ASFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

Hype for season 2 and excited to see geros relative/brother? to jump into the scene now, there is still many mysterys in the show as well as geros own family but atp, JUST MARRY ALL THE CANDIDATE GERO!!!

Overall a strong 7.8/10, voice acting to animation was top notch although at some parts of the show, the progression was a bit slow or a bit boring but the end result pays off with the beauty of the candidates. So inconclusion, ALL THE GIRLS ARE MARRYABLE INCLUDING KINOSAKI AND TOMBOYS ARE THE FUCKING BEST

Another thing, its insane how the next season will be just be 6 months, the animators are rly working to the bone

Episode 13 was a solid, well-rounded season finale. It had just the right mix of emotional moments to give proper closure to the main arcs, making it feel like a satisfying wrap-up while still keeping the story moving. Ending on that cliffhanger was the perfect move—it sets up so many big questions and leaves us hooked for whatever comes next season. It might not have been as chaotic as the last episode, but as a season ender, it executed its job really well. Can't wait to see where they take the story from here whenever the next season drops!

Looking back at all 13 episodes, this season was a complete rollercoaster with massive highs, a few frustrating lows, and a surprisingly satisfying wrap-up. The series kicked off strong with insane animation and high-octane action, even if the heavy focus on BL, GL, and bisexual dynamics caught me completely off guard right away. By episode 2 and 3, the mix of comedy and combat was firing on all cylinders—it even had me hit with a hilarious reality check about my own nonexistent dating life compared to Geto!

Things definitely took a dip in the middle. Episodes 4 through 5 felt super slow and sleepy, and episode 8 and 9 almost made me drop the show entirely. Watching Geto get completely wiped out out of nowhere by that random, overpoweringly broken character ruined the power scaling. Then seeing the Poison Clan—who were hyped up as unstoppable—suddenly struggle so hard felt like lazy writing and pure artificial drama.

Luckily, the anime pulled off a massive comeback in the final stretch. Episode 10 laid down a solid foundation, episode 11 delivered peak combat between Kijisha and the monster, and episode 12 was an absolute masterpiece. The emotional depth, top-tier animation during the fights, and that final reveal of the new beast master who was hot as hell made it the best episode of the whole run. Ending with episode 13 provided a grounded, emotional conclusion that balanced proper closure with a killer cliffhanger for next season. It wasn't perfect, but as a full journey, it delivered great fights, wild twists, and a super fun ride overall.

I love how people collectively liked a harem anime this season. It just goes to show that harem can be appealing. Just squeeze in a bit of LGBT content, and people will like. Ironically, the harems lovers don't enjoy it because of the presence of a femboy. All those memes about loving femboys were lies.

It seems rather obvious the reason for having Kinosaki as actually male and getting that out from the start was to take them out of the running. (Although the comments here make it clear that doesn't stop some people, despite the clan itself being interested in an heir). If they hadn't done that, most people would rightfully have expected who his bride would have ultimately be.
