So it's Bofuri: Alternate, or Sally's side?
I thought she was gonna fight stupid guy, then she said she was actually going to go fight goblins, then called him a goblin, all very amusing

This is suppose to be the original EPISODE 1 (aka first chapters of manga)

However the fact they did the other Episode 1 just makes this even more confusing for some ppls.

Such as... we're now back into "ISEKAI" where she can't log out, BUT the other Episode 1 showed her logging out after the Black Viper incident (which originally she can't and is still stuck in the game world)

Which means the whole "God" and "Isekai" fiasco loses a lot of meaning for this series.

And the fact that Yuna can't remove her outfit is also crap cause she showed back in the other Episode 1 she could access her 30k 6 monitor PC to check on her game stats, which means she could access her character's profile and the games systems like she said in this real Episode 1 ("I can't complain to the Admins until I am logged out", which she did "logged out" in the other Episode 1)

___ ___ ___

overall, I wonder if they're still going to rearrange the stories to fit the Isekai, or still going with the other Episode 1 VRMMO...

Cause this means some stories in the manga has to be changed or removed if they stayed VRMMO. (which some of the stuff in this real Episode 1 changed/ removed, but I assume it's due to fit episode time limit)

Isekai + OP bear suit. This is actually a pretty chill anime. In the start, I thought it was going to be a complete action anime, but this is not that bad.
I am enjoying this for now.
Fall anime 2020 really got us some good ones this time.
I am happy to see that Yuna is fitting in with the people of this new world.
The only mystery is that what is this God and the mails that she is receiving. Got a little confused there. Hopefully, we will get more background after a few episodes. I thought Yuna would be a little worried.

Not reading the LN, but reading the manga though. I didn't expect much from this title, and I can tell that the manga was nothing special at all. Just your ordinary isekai title like so many others out there.
But this adaptation, though, was really-really bad.... Even if I didn't expect anything from the anime, it still smh manage to disappoint me. Needless to say, I'm dropping.

Wan't some light hearted, SoL, isekai title? Wait for Spring 21 instead of watching this. We've got Azusa the Witch comming.

They should have started with this episode instead of the previous one. It would just confuse people jumping through timelines like that.

Anime only here.
It's not confusing at all. Not sure what you're on about.
Starting with the previous episode is, in my opinion, a much better way to start this anime. Starting with this episode would've been basic AF

There's nothing confusing about it lol. LN-readers should stop projecting what they think onto anime-onlies

Oh from game show turned into isekai, explains alot of ep1, but still an intentionally messy ep1. Ep2 much better, more funny & cute.
that's... a depressing survey. yep the emo silver avatar fit her personality more, but ya bear is better.
God got a fun trolly voice lol.

Let me break it down for you then.

I'm not saying that it's confusing throughout the whole episode, just the beginning of this episode after continuing from the previous one and we do kind of get what is going on halfway through this second episode. Also, maybe not everyone will get confused by the story but it was, at least, confusing to me when I watched the first episode BEFORE checking out the LN (just putting this here in case you think I'm "projecting what I think onto anime-onlies").

Let me break it down for you then. First episode, we started off with Yuna going to slay the Black Viper with the boy. Yuna is already in her bear equip, she monologues about how "this world's" children are so mature. One would think: oh, so we are already in the otherworld and we are skipping the typical "transportation, introduction" part (since we already know its and isekai series from the synopsis, all the promotional articles, etc). Skip to the end, Yuna lifts off the VR headset and talks about how it was a successful event this time. So, this leads viewers to think: wait, so all that just now was just an in-game event? LOL

Second episode (this one), we start from Yuna entering the game with her silver-haired avatar/character. So, what happened to the previous episode's bear and her real world face? We then understand that the previous episode was probably a timeskip to the middle of the story after seeing Yuna getting the bear equip and being transported to the otherworld.

I'm not saying that it's confusing throughout the whole episode, just the beginning of this episode after continuing from the previous one and we do kind of get what is going on halfway through this second episode. Also, maybe not everyone will get confused by the story but it was, at least, confusing to me when I watched the first episode BEFORE checking out the LN (just putting this here in case you think I'm "projecting what I think onto anime-onlies"

Ah fair enough. I didn't aim that comment towards you or anyone in particular (even though it's a reply, so I understand why it seems that way. That's definitely on me), I just saw a lot of people basically saying how anime-onlies wouldn't get it. This happens with many anime, which always comes across as arrogant and elitist to me, and I saw it a lot especially in the episode discussiosn of this anime, so I guess I kind of got fed up.
Apologies for that.

Personally I didn't find it confusing at all. It was fairly obvious to me that this was before the previous episode. Not everything has to be clear immediately, and I don't think it's been done badly in this anime imo. I personally thought it showed what's to come and some of the mechanics, which I liked. It's a more fun introduction than starting with 'oh I got transported to another world, here's how everything works'. Of course, there was still a little bit of that here, but seeing as we got a scope of her powers in the first episode, they could basically rush through most the leveling and powering up stuff, which for this particular anime, works well in my opinion. It's not a particularly serious anime after all.

NOW THIS IS BETTER and more like it. If Episode 1 was an introduction to Yuna's VRMMO activities (which created A LOT of confusion), this episode IS THE OFFICIAL start of it all (and following the LN/manga sources). And yes, if technically right, this series being a bootleg SAO and Bofuri being an Isekai, it kinda is, but isn't too, and blurring the line between Isekai and VRMMO.

So Yuna is "officially" trapped in the VRMMO World Fantasy Online as yet another OP character, and there's no means of escape, but like whatever LOLs, an Isekai world is better than the real world for her. Fina, on the other hand, is a real cutie though.

But for someone like Yuna, it's easy to get affilliated into the fantasy world and start bashing like it was nothing. The start of the life between Yuna and Fina? Hope this isn't develop into some Yuri though.

The pacing of this worries me a lot, plus the director having to direct 2 shows this season, lots of burnout and red flags...

Well...
That wasn't the pile of hot garbage the first episode was...

There weren't any major offenses this time with regards to shitting all over the source material, but it really does feel very rushed. It's clear they tried to cram too many chapters in per episode - with many scenes jumping straight to the conclusion, and some pieces of the story outright omitted.
The artwork and animation further contributes towards this impression - particularly the backgrounds and monsters - give it the feel of a low-effort rough-draft rush-job, as opposed to something where quality was even a consideration.

It still doesn't come close to living up to the novel & manga. It lost too many of the finer details that make the story feel complete. It's clear that it was heavily trimmed & and somewhat modified for time. It's understandable, but it's really a shame.
Disregarding how it measures up to the original, it's an okay anime on its own. The overall story survives enough to follow along, and the characters weren't as low-effort as some of the other parts.

The cute Fina moments and the OP & ED songs saved this anime. I will happily watch this for the cute fluff and music. It's just a shame it feels cheaply made with terrible pacing.

So yes, it's still a mess, but at least not total garbage.
Maybe that was the goal: set the bar real low with a total shit first episode so that the rest of the series will look good when measured against our lowered expectations.

God there are so many males in this anime. There mere existence irritates me

I watch anime mostly because I like to drool over the pretty anime girls. I find the anime males to be extremely unattractive and unpleasant to look at. IMO They just destroy the aesthetic value of the anime. And i definitely dont like therm around MY girls

I like the backstory how Yuna got her bear suit . And she and Fina have some cute moments together. But the main problem still remains . I give this anime 3/10 for now

Yeah, episode 1 makes people so confused
I understand why people thinking she is only playing a game even though I thought there are some dialogues that it is only a game.
So, it turns out it is a real world after all but I also wonder why the hell episode 1 makes it begin with game start dialogue and ends like that
It is not like it made it more interesting either?

not amaze balls but decent episode

might be nice seeing these two girls work together and help each other out

wasn't expecting her to start from lvl 1 like that though. i'm trying to make sense of episode 1. the bulk of it was yuna at her present state. i'm assuming the ending scene where she's on the phone with her grandfather was a prior state, before she acquired the bear suit. (that, or, at some point she became advanced enough that she could return to the real world even despite abandoning it for the bear suit/video game world? pfft idk)

what is this "god" thing?

I guess this episode is confirmation it's all in a game.
Not the most original of concepts, but nonetheless it can be done well.

I'm guessing episode 1 was meant to keep people guessing and anticipated for this anime and then this episode is the introduction to Yuna.

Some nice bonding between Yuna and Hina, that's nice to see.

Other than that, it's alright, maybe it might pick up soon but not much is happening that's too interesting in my opinion.

This was way more wholesome than I was expecting. I wasn't sure how I felt about Yuna after the first episode, but after seeing a bit more of her and how she interacts with others I'm liking her more. I'm looking forward to how the rest of the season goes.

The glaring CGI is reminding me of a Neptunia game.

If it continues like this I'll just accept it as a game mechanic expression.
