It feels like Fujimoto was just fed up with his manga and threw this ending like "you've got your happy ending now, happy ?". Just so rushed.

Generational stumble, terrible ending, i feel like all the love and passion i had for the show was for nothing. Not one single character reached a conclusion let alone a meaningful one

Having binge re-read the entirety of part 2 over the last several days, I can say for certain that this is a series that’s meant to be binge read. The sequence of events flowed much better when you’re able to just move immediately onto the next chapter, and part 2 was a tad bit more enjoyable when I binge read it. Waiting for a new chapter on a weekly or sometimes biweekly basis kills the flow; with all that said, part 2 still lost me around the Chainsaw Man church stuff, and never really got me super hooked back in afterward.

Onto the ending though, looks like Fujimoto went for the soft reset route. Could have been worse I guess but it does feel a bit anticlimactic as well. It was nice to see Power and Nayuta again I suppose. This looks like it might the end for real and given how much of a slog part 2 felt like sometimes, I hope we don’t get a part 3 lol. If we do though ima still read it lmao.

It really sucks that part 1 and 2 aren’t separate entries on here cause I don’t want to have to lower my score for the whole manga just because of part 2. If I had to score them separately though I’d give part 1 a 9/10 and part 2….probably about a 5/10, it really just never hit the same as part 1 for me.

Initial gut reaction; I'm okay with this.

There is so much unanswered and never addressed, but those aren't bothering me they way they have for other series.

I think the pacing of build-build-build into hard stop is never a great feeling to end on, but I wasn't entirely caught off guard given its Fujimoto and I was coming to terms with accepting that possibility over the past two weeks.

Ultimately I followed this story because I want Denji to get a happy ending after everything that's happened (Asa as well), and with the amount of world ending escalation by the end, a clean win seemed less and less feasible.

Still need to sit with it, definitely going to give it time then re-read all of part 2 to see how that reads compared to the week-to-week drip-feed. Not really in any position to take a hard stance, would definitely like more if this somehow isn't the end, but I'm not bitter about this being the last we get, kind of at a "That'd be nice" point, not actually having any hope or expectations for it.

The good:
-Powy back
-Denji and Powy together forever
-Nayuta
-Implied everyone who died due to gun is not dead (maybe)

The bad:
-Every plotline introduced in part 2 is completely null, they will never be paid off due to the universe reset
-We still have no fucking clue wtf the deal with Yoshida and Kishibe is/was
-No Aki cameo in last chapter :(
-No Reze cameo in last chapter :(

Part 1 still good. Part 2 is pretty bad but had it's good moments, especially at the start.
Overall 3/5 ending. Hope that maybe when the final volume releases it has a bonus chapter where we do get to see how Aki is doing in this new timeline.

@Mommyyyy While I think we could have had another ending that didn't reset thing. This ending does really well to tie back to chapter 1 with the two contacts between Denji and Pochita and the talk of dreams.

All's well that ends well, I guess. The ending leaves the story open to our imagination. I disagree with the people hating on Fujimoto sensei. I think it was a good wrap-up nonetheless. It was a great ride reading Chainsawman!

The only ending worse than this was oshi no ko's and the bar wasnt set very high lets just say that
Not one character reached conclusion
Not one goal reached
Pochita saying Denji was never truly happy is straight up a lie
Chapter felt like a cameo episode not a proper ending like, what was power doing there, by the time denji got to public safety she was already there for a while, we know that since they already had to drain her blood right before the reze arc therefore she knew whats coming. What is nayuta doing there? She shouldnt even exists as Makima is still alive as the control devil and now nayuta is just a normal child meaning public safety would have never taken her from china... Also, you mean to tell me that Asa tripping with bucky happened not much after denji got into public safety and the part after her death and Denji getting to school took the same amount of time for both of them? My boy literally fought a dozen devils (powerful ones) before he go to go to school, several months at least. Im so confused and dissapointed.

The most whelming ending of all time.

On one hand, power and nayuta are back. On the other, what even was the point? I guess there was no point without Reze.

Apparently its been almost full 5 years since I finished part 1 even. Half a decade of nothingness. I hate getting old.

I guess that's it...

I've been reading Chainsaw man weekly for since about 2020, that's near to 6 years. I fucking adored this manga then, and I adore it now, and I can't believe it's over, but, 5 years ago when didn't know there would be a part 2 we all thought it was over too, so I guess we were lucky to have more. I'm going to miss reading chainsaw man weekly, but I'm glad Fujimoto got to end it on his terms, perhaps feeling out of nowhere, but in retrospect making sense, and what could be more Chainsaw Man than that? Thanks for the everything Fujimoto, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Keep dreaming Denji!

I'm a little disappointed, fujimoto clearly does not have the same motivation he had for part 1 or even the first half of part 2 and it is unfortunately very obvious. This is becoming a problem in the manga industry, same thing happened with JJK, an excellent series with a, rushed, flawed ending. Still this chapter was very enjoyable, glad to see some familiar faces and the scene where denji catches asa is sweet. Many things are going unexplained and I hope we get an epilogue spinoff or something the clear them up.

It looks like it's leaning towards AsaDen unless like some people interpreted, Denji & Asa parted ways & it's more DenPower oriented. If it's really a DenPower ending then the Futamichi/Crossroads manager did promise that Denji would meet his perfect girl. A rarity of a blonde ship happening if it's really leaning on DenPower. At least Denji can finally get laid.

We had a good run fellas.

Nayuta looks less evil than Makima.

Looks like Power's blood cured Denji's heart problem & stab wound but not his eye. Does that mean he didn't get his ball back?

I love the callback to the axe as his human weapon.

At least it's least mindfucking than Fire Punch.

Just realized one of the foods Power was craving was fried rice & ice cream which was Denji's orders in Crossroads/Futamichi along w/ some curry.

What the fuck was even the point man. This ending probably would've been good if it was actually earned, as it actually fits the themes of the story and shows us Denji breaking the cycle he's been trapped down, but instead it's just a scenario forced into being by Pochita with dozens of character and plot threads left unfinished and us just getting told to deal with it. What a waste.

Is this a great ending? No.
Is this a shit ending? No.
It leaves both parts nullified? Yes

It's just an OK, ending, just that. Rushed, a little bit underwhelming and while it closes Denji's part of the story, I feel that Asa's end is just unpolished and for god's sake, Yoru's last panel is just her saying that she'll have sex with Denji.

For people asking for Aki, if Pochita is not there Makima isn't either. That implies that either Aki is dead or never joined the Devil Hunters cause of Gun Devil.

This series went from being one of my top 5 of all time to not even scraping my top 20 over the course of part 2, and this ending hasn't changed my feelings. Really don't like that it ended by negating everything that happened before.
To me Chainsaw Man is like Naruto, where I loved the first half but the second half totally screwed everything up that I loved about the series. We'll always have part 1, and I'll always love it, but I'm going to have to pretend part 2 doesn't exist to still be able to enjoy it. What a shame.

Goodbye, Chainsaw Man.

I'll never forget you for as long as I live.
The joy you've brought me over the years, all of the memories. I'll cherish them until I die.

Farewell, Denji, farewell Asa, farewell, Power, farewell Nayuta, farewell to anyone else, and Farewell to Pochita, the one who sacrificed himself to create a better world. I hope all of you will get to live your ideal dream life from now on.

Thank you, Tatsuki Fujimoto.

Better than I expected, but still quite rushed unfortunately, overall a mixed bag, although I'm glad the characters got a happy ending, it just felt a bit too... safe I guess? Regardless, I still love Chainsaw Man, part 1 was fantastic, and part 2 was actually pretty good as well in my opinion, with many flaws obviously, but yeah overall I can't say I'm not disappointed, even though I didn't outright hate it either.

The only thing that bothers me is that I can't rate the two parts separately.

Part 1 would be a solid 9/10. I reread it for the nth time last year and it still holds with very minor gripes.
Part 2 is a 5/10 at max. Many wasted potentials, horrible character writing (save pre-Falling Devil arc Asa), weird writer decisions overall. (Also, worse art, but it didn't really bother me.)

It wasn't the best ending, but it was better than i thought it will be. Some things to emphasize, Power, and Nayuta are alive (i like that ). Also it seems Asa has a better social life now. I wish she, and Denji could meet again in this timeline.

Thank you, Chainsaw Man! This isn’t ever how I thought the series would end, but I’m glad it’s a happy one. Power, Nayuta, and the pets are all back, and Denji gets to live a life not controlled by the urge to be Chainsaw Man (Asa seems happy too!). Not everything was explained or every character shown, but I can’t feel any hate toward this manga that has entertained me for so long. The last 30 or so chapters weren’t my favorite, and a part three would make me very happy. We still have a possible movie, series, and merchandise to look forward to, but no more of the manga that meant so much to me. But now, just like Denji, we can see what Tatsuki Fujimoto is like without Chainsaw Man, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes and following his future works.

I don't even know what to feel about this final chapter but that's the best ending that could be stuffed into a chapter and this is by far as good as it can get for the part 2. Part 2 as a whole brings down this manga from 9 to a 8, or even to a 7.

Thank God this is over. Honestly I almost respect Fujimoto for making it as clear as day he did not care about this dogs hit manga anymore. Part 2 was truly a complete and utter catastrophe, not that Part 1 was really anything good, it had the same problem of nonsensical bs that tries to be funny but is just stupid and horrendous pacing. I'm just thankful I never have to read another chapter of this manga again in my life.

So it finally ends Huh?
Fujimoto really sped up towards the end and fumbled ngl, this is essentialy a jojo part 6 ending done way worse.

Denji gets a semi ok ending but still weighed down by what was wrong with him back in the first chapter, the world is the same as before just with no Pochita, maybe a bit more peaceful since with no chainsaw devil not so many devils will have a reason to target Denji and Public Safety, just regular devil killing jobs ahead and most of the stuff that happened in part 1 won't happen again with Makima not being the Control Devil.

So Part 1 9 to 9,5/10 and part 2 with the ending a 6/10, overall a 8/10 for the whole manga, it really started dragging towards the end and then speedrun the ending.

It was fun while it lasted, Goodbye Chainsaw Man, hope Fujimoto writes something he enjoys more now, it really seems he got tired of chainsaw man in the final 30 chapters.

A bit of a "meh okay" ending that doesn't feel as satisfying as it should be. I really liked the previous chapter but I have to say that this one as a conclusion didn't quite stick the landing for me. Best moment was the Denji and Asa scene. "World reset" type endings can be a real hit or miss. I think Fujimoto sensei could have built toward this in a more cohesive way than how it played out. I still like part 2 but wish it had a better ending.

Goodbye, Chainsaw Man. Looking forward to what Fujimoto has in store for us next.
