| So the last time we saw Ono wasn’t a dream or anything she’s actually alive, and she was just hiding out of fear of being separated from Fuyumura. She really believes she’d be kicked out of school if anyone found out she hit puberty. It’s not her fault either; she grew up thinking that becoming an adult is something bad and that she’d be punished for experiencing puberty for the first time. Now the real problem is that the headmaster caught them talking about all of this, so they’re in serious trouble. |
| Niko is actually a cool character... but yeah we're getting to know more about this world and it's totally fucked up, so the huge issue is really puberty and to not be affected they have to stop sleeping... Ono is back and it's already wild with Fuyumura |

MORE LIKELY THAN YOU THINK ! oh fuyumura... i could see that was sapphic yearning from episode 1 maybe "the gender i was crazy about was the one that's unique to fuyumura" is the best line of this season... i keep going to say i cant believe a silly anime about santa is offering such palpable commentary on such a wide variety of topics but honestly after watching beastars i really shouldve expected this to happen like OUUU the androgynous character has feelings about their gender like OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU i love it here |
| I did not expect Ono and Fuyumura to be romantically involved, but am glad to see it! This has been a great year for the inclusion of queer characters in genre series (this, "Kowloon Generic Romance," "The Summer Hikaru Died," etc.). |

| I'm glad this episode exists - I really like the idea of Ono as a character and I was scared when she re-appeared, she'd be just some happy-go-lucky delicate fragile girl, who was in need of big strong Santa to save her from the evil school guy. I like how it wasn't the school who took her away, it was herself because she was so indoctrinated into the beliefs that she herself thought of puberty as wrong, so it was her own fault for growing up and being childish enough to want to grow up and not listen to the school. I also really like the themes of repession too!!! Merry Christmas!! |
| Nah Sanda thats crazy, using your big mates chest to see if you like boobs was insane from this anime! Niko seems like a fun fiancé, thought she was a bit werid and still do but nothing wrong with that :D Glad to see Sanda can still enjoy some aspects of childhood...whenever he's not being Santa that is. Besides all that seems we had a real insight into the characters' thoughts on puberty and the way their bodies are in this episode, especially with Fuyumura! Kinda getting the feeling this isn't the happy smile Santa anime I thought it was but actually something much deeper! |
| WTF! did i just hear that weather report right?!? A MONTH LONG TYPHOON!?! i gotta pull up the sub version because the EDub just said "Typhoon #2 will be making landfall in the Kanto Region this afternoon and remain for the next month sustaining its intensity." yup, the sub version said pretty much the exact same thing. no effing way. hurricanes DO NOT DO THAT! EVER! typhoons either! they don't just SIT ON A LANDMASS and linger for a freaking month! especially a landmass as freakin small as Japan! no water, no energy, no hurricane/typhoon... they move along a path and don't STOP till their energy supply is entirely wasted due to no new hot moist air over oceans and large bodies of water being supplied into the system. i know the ones that hit Florida pass over it quickly... in less than a day... maybe hitting the Gulf of Mexico if they started in the Atlantic or moving into the Atlantic if they spawned in the Gulf. once they hit the 'mainland' of the US they dissipate within a day to two days into huge bands of intense/damaging thunderstorms... but even a country as small as Japan disrupts the cycle that keeps a typhoon running efficiently till its projected path LEAVES Japan and the system hits ocean water again. but a typhoon hitting Japan and just sitting on TOP of it for a MONTH!?! this mangaka has to be effing nuts! :O climate change my left buttcheek! |

| Kinda insane that they waited 5 episodes to tell us that the kids don't sleep and aren't supposed to sleep. That's such a major and weird detail. I guess the way they used it to explain why Ono disappeared makes sense. I wonder then if the creepy old guy teacher knew what happened to her somehow and that's why he treated her as dead. You'd think with how precious children are in this world that he would take a missing child very seriously and try to find them. Everyone wearing the same uniforms didn't hit me at first either, but I started to notice when they showed Fuyumura with shorter hair and I realized how boyish she looked and that she had on the boys' uniform. |
