| Great set of stories from this manga. 7/10. My favorite is easily Gentle Goodbye. Next afterwards would be Whispering Woman and Blackbird. Futon's reveal of monstrous beings in plain view was beautiful. I wonder if that glowing sticky thing that can cause hallucination is real though. I like the devil woman's design also. Wooden Spirit was alluring from the height and mystery of the bizarre tall woman who absored herself into several eyes inside the mansion. Experiencing the odd woman woshipping architecture naked and kissing the floor was interesting. Red Turtleneck was awesome. The horror of the guy sobbing, pleading his ex to save him, while he desperately holds his beheaded head to stay alive was insane. Three children coming out from the witche's vanishing corpse was weird, but her collection of decompsing heads, and ability to cut them with her head was cool. Gentle Goodbye's twist of the heroine being an spirit "afterimage" who died 10 years ago was fucking great. The concept alone of a family's powerful prayers unleashing dead spirits to live on as an afterimage for twenty years is amazing. I wonder why she continued to have dreams of her father dying even after she was dead herself... Dissection-chan was fairly entertaining. I was hoping we'd see the guy actually accept her request. 'Curious how she got the animals she killed as a kid magically inside her stomach, with monsters in it as well. Blackbird is interesting. I have to admit that the contrast of the being's beauty and danger is attractive, but the fact that she can somehow go into the past to feed a person their future self is even more intriguing. Horrifying that she kills both guys in the end though... 'tragic ending. Magami Nanakuse was decent... interesting design of a stretched still face that somehow stayed immobile... Finally, Whispering Woman. I would have liked more insight to the caretaker's life and mindset, but her demise of dying from murder of her boyfriend as she was a victim of abuse with poor health due to caring for him and her boss' daughter, who is a awesome unique who can't function without having direct straightforward orders, or else her mind runs wild, being unable to decide on any action. Even cooler is the end of how after her caretaker dies, she can still care for the daughter as a spirit, and orders the young girl to kill her boyfriend. I was surprised and disappointed that nobody helped the caretaker in time though... Very entertaining manga in several ways overall. |
| This collection went off with a bang. This is my 2nd favorite story. So much mystery and terror. |
