Yeah, this had a season finale vibe to it with the festival. Glad it served as a celebration for the cats, humans, and every other character that showed up.

Nekoryuu makes one more apperance in this season finale that started it all. Nothing to tacky or out of the ordinary for this final episode imo. Just good around finale.

Idk it was a good end to the show overall, despite rating this so low I don't have many bad things to say it just wasn't for me personally. Ironic considering how much I love cats, I think it was okay overall I think I just would have personally preferred a more direct plot.

Comfy show, though the plot is quite playing safe.

The prince's escape, mother's day, and grandma-grandpa episodes are my top 3 faves, but the last three episodes had the best animations.

Well done to OLM. Definitely their best new show (not titled Kusuriya) after Tonbo. Can't say much about Diamond Ace since I didn't start the anime to begin with.
They had many lows nowadays, but this is one of their highs.

It was such a simple, wholesome, and honest anime. The kind of show you could look forward to every week, just sitting down and enjoying a peaceful afternoon or evening while watching a bunch of cats go about their lives and interact with both each other and the humans around them. It had plenty of playful and funny moments, but it also knew when to slow down and give us some genuinely sweet and sentimental ones.

I really enjoyed this one from beginning to end. I hope we get more shows with a similar atmosphere and concept (cats). ^_^

The tales, the story behind the tales, and the legacy of cat-sith, a dragon and humans wholesome, peaceful coexistence.

Such perfect tales to be told to future generations.

And so we end with a festival play, fireworks and looking back on the stories told of humans and cats and a dragon.

Pretty cute series. I imagine cat fans would love it most of all. I remember wondering after the first episode, which felt very self-contained, if we were gonna get an anthology series focusing on new characters each week. And the answer turned out to be...sort of. Different episodes did tend to focus on different characters, but several like the Winged Uncle himself popped up repeatedly. As such I enjoyed some plot lines more than others, but there weren't any I really disliked. The ending felt pretty conclusive, but I'd watch more if it did come. 7/10.

This was a pleasant and comfy series from start to finish. I liked that they capped off the season with a festival and a performance of how it all started.

Easily a recommendable series.

Now that I know the story of the old cat.... Everytime I see him, either in the OP, the flashback this EP, or in the ED...
Something hits hard.... wwwwwww

This season has so many dark horses.
This will def not be AOTS, not even the season's dark horse (personally for me, that goes to Kore Kaite Shine), but will still be a very special anime....

Welp!
Time to start looking into the manga ig.... wwwwwww

This was such a sweet and wholesome show. I'm already missing the characters. Mama cat in particular was the best!

I'm glad Dragon finally decided to stop with the hate. Him getting embarrassed made me genuinely laugh. It was like cringe, old, edgy memory resurfacing :D

This needs S2. So many more stories can be told! Orphan mage girl and adventuring prince stories for instance, I'm curious what happens next. :(

Oh well... One day, maybe.

This anime is a surprise hit for me, defying my pessimistic. At first I don't like it, now not only I like it but I also love it.

The best thing is that this anime is easy to recommend to someone who's new to anime and someone who need a family-friendly anime that's not too childish.

The festival was a great way to end off this beautiful and heartwarming show. They performed a play to show where we started, and the fireworks show demonstrated where all that lead to.

This was one of those rare shows where there was not a single character I disliked. And after spending 3 months of my life with these guys, it's hard to say goodbye. I'll miss my sweet little fur babies 😭

Speaking of goodbye, this marks the start of the painful finalization of all the shows I'm watching this season. Yare yare

Honestly, i never imagined i could cry because an anime about a dragon that can trasnform into a cat, cats and their stories, relationships, interactions with each other and the dragon, as well humans, could be so much emotionals and amazing. Omg, Oji-chan i'll miss you so much after this (*sob sob*), as well mama-nyan, best mother EVER!! I'll def search for the light novel because this is a gem and i love it so much

Honestly, this was good. I was genuinely impressed even after finishing it. Never thought an anime about cats and their interactions with humans spanning generations would end up being this interesting to me, especially since I don’t even like cats, lmao. Nicely done. 8/10.

Haha the other cats have to drag Winged Uncle kicking and screaming to the festival.
After seeing the play it's no wonder Winged Uncle didn't want to come lol, his reactions were funny.
Another great episode showing the friendship between cats and humans.
This is the best anime I have watched this year.

I've got to be honest, while I watched the whole series it never quite hooked me. With the episodic nature I didn't come to care for most of the characters. The exception was the old cat, which was a truly moving episode. But still, in the end, it was heartwarming to see cats and humans living together and being good to one another. 6/10

@Sheol01 I think the brief moments after the end credits and episode title preview were leading up to this, since they were talking about a festival and Winged Uncle was always depicted as grumpy in them, probably selections from the light novel, if I had to guess

In the end if was a rather pleasant anime. If anything it feels like the author's stream of consciousness thinking about different cat-themed stories to create and there are a lot of diverging threads that would make for interesting stories on their own. Yet after they produced this story they never wrote anymore which is disappointing.

It's not easy to make an enchanting cozy show with a sense of wonder while juggling multiple interesting characters but this show ticked all the boxes seamlessly. Can't wait for season 2.

i really enjoyed this show! it was beautiful, well written, excellent period European music, stupendous animation, stellar acting, great humor, a scattering of tragedy/sadness, awesome worldbuilding, cool as heck special effects, and the original premise was crazy original! using old myths from Europe blended with classic high fantasy storytelling like The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table, and Papa Tolkien till today. it didn't fall back on the TTRPG tropes, it refashioned them into a MUCH more realistic and immersive 'these are these people's lives' tale. no 'menu screens in mid-air', no skills, no stats, no leveling or EXP, just 'real lives' set in this fantasy world.

i CAN'T truly call it a detraction or a demerit... more like 'that is just the way the story is told'... but the purely episodic nature of this show with mini-arcs and the interwoven multi-generational (for both humans and cats) timeline with more than one forwards and backwards hop... isn't the standard linear 'one protagonist' and 'the/some antagonist(s)' starting HERE and then moving forwards in time ending THERE type of storytelling most folks are used to. even though Winged Uncle isn't always in every story arc, and some arcs don't have him starring in them at ALL! each cat and human in this show has been influenced somehow by Winged Uncle's long looong looooooong life and actions. so... he is the protagonist in the originating or central position, and all the other story arcs radiate outwards from him.

i really REALLY do hope we see a S2 of this one. i want to know more about the Adventurer Prince and his shishou Kurobane. as well as if Shirotae can convince Gally that magic is actually something for her to get fired up about.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

Fine finale for fairytale. 9/10!
Now im curious with afterstories, are they able to keep the harmony when the dragon died, or dragon is immortal at this rate.
I imagine if there is ignorant hero killed the dragon, and the demon brother and catsith race destroy everything to revenge uncle dragon, therefore human start to hate cat and demon.

IMHO this is a very good and comfy anime to watch. I absolutely love how the cats are drawn and animated, it is so easy to remember and distinguish each one of them. I hope that the story is not over yet and there might be another season coming.

Truly a show that I would not forget as well

Love that it started with destruction on both sides, but ended with harmony of both cats and humans

This was a really wonderful, heartwarming show with a touch of whimsy. An anthology of cat stories with Winged Uncle as the common denominator who's always there to support each and every cat. Made me cry and made me smile. Would love to have more stories!

And that's a wrap. What an amazing show, it was. And we got what I was hopping for, the Festival we've been reading about at the end of each episode. How Winged Uncle reluctanly got dragged into the festival by Monarch, and by him just walking into the city, he is joined by more and more cats, and when he arrives it is a procession of Cat Siths 😁

He getting all shy and awkwards for the story being retold. I do wonder: is the king THAT kid that got friends with the cat? Or was an ancestor of his? And how long have passed since Uncle came to the castle for the first time, and later to make the pact with humans to have cats teaching magic to them?

Anyways, lovely and awsome show, I really hope it get a second season, there are lots of other stories we need to see 😁

The first half was pretty good and had me interested, but it started getting pretty boring towards the end. Felt like the show lost some of the momentum it had early on, so the second half wasn't nearly as enjoyable to watch.
