This isn’t the schedule for the remaining episodes. It’s just the schedule for when Abema regular members can see the mini episodes. All the mini episodes are available to premium members at the start. We won’t see anything new until TV broadcast releases regular episode 7 in mid August.
@AP24 Well, that just ruined my mood.
But this is what I expected at first any so I guess no biggie? The release of this series is so fucked.

Neat anime. It didn't hit quite as hard as the manga did, though.

It could be just because this is the second time I'm experiencing this story. The manga felt extremely natural and effortlessly charming, with some palpable tension at times. The anime on the other hand felt more plain, more like a "typical" anime.

When you boil it down it's just boring people being nice and talking about nothing in particular. Without the naturalism it just doesn't have the same power, I think.

First half (EP11 mini)
Nice that they are addressing the health issue with regards to chain smoking. Unfortunately they had to do a "misdiagnosis" trope, which is disappointing to say the least. I guess the writer had to make sure the story keeps to the title.

Second half (EP12 mini)
Damn it! Sweating from my eyes! This was brilliant backstory. Sasaki was her hero from the very beginning. And she was only 16 at that time! And I guess it has come full circle now that they are both adults supporting each other from bad work experiences.

I've loved the ED from the very beginning, but the OP is growing on me. Very much looking forward to the series continuing on to the full episodes.

Will definitely check the manga of this one.

I really enjoyed the first episodes of *Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You*. The story is interesting because it deals with the lives of two ordinary workers, both trapped in terrible work routines. They are two individuals who struggle with functional socialization and end up using the habit of smoking as a way to get closer to each other. It is unusual, but excellent precisely because of that.

Since watching on a site that separates all the eps into 12 rather than 6, I got confused here. However, July is far too long. I'll have to wait next month to see it all done, but weekly smoking behind the supermarket and cuteness are too good for the soul.
I hope old man has his hair straightened out so Yamada can see it, they both see two different people and yet, are themselves.

I think I’m kinda addicted to this series. I just keep wanting more every episode. Honestly, I don’t really care about the smoking or the age gap or anything like that- I’m just here for their interactions. Watching them tease each other is way too fun. I enjoy a lot of other anime too, but the vibe and humor in this one just hit differently. It feels really smooth and satisfying to watch. Also makes me feel really calm and comfortable while watching..

Oh, so now i see why in the very first (mini) episode why Sasaki when he comes out of the convenience store immediately takes out his cigarette (as he did in the past like some muscle reflex memory thing ig) and when he sees that No smoking sign, he panicked and went back of the store where he meets Yamada. Damn, such peak minute detailing.

Excited for the 7th episode. Ig we would have to wait atleast a month and a half for that starting from 9th July.

The backstory between the two of them is sooooo cute! Sasaki was so (effortlessly/unintentionally) badass back then, and the entire budget just went straight to Yamada's crying scene. I usually dislike the "she remembers their past, but he doesn't" trope in anime, but the final plot twist -- no one remembers it at the end is actually quite refreshing. Binged all 6 eps in one go, and I NEED MORE!!!

Remember kids, smoking/vaping makes you look cool even if you have the personality of a wet noodle and it absolutely has no health issues. It will get you a hot young snarky girl that will like you for no real reason. /s

There couldn't had been a worse episode to make the pause than one where Sakaki met Yamada when she was even younger and more vulnerable (this will make the age gap less creepy, right?), and of course in order to make him more appealing the author has to make him look like the hero of the day with such a low bar passive/aggresive intervenience.

I like Yamada and Gotou, I don't like this senile soyboy bum, well in the first half of this first half at least, surprisingly, he's growing on me

but

1. he's a stalker
2. unconsciously making a backup of Tamaya since he doesn't know they're the same
3. groomer, even more apparent in the flashback, she's probably highschool in that flashback

also that save was so ass, it's pathetic for a buildup of how she fell for him, like come on, what a soyboy, it would have make sense if he sucker punched that guy and that's why she fell for him but nah, lame typical nonconfrontational culture of japanese people, she got wet over that pathetic heroism, that was pathetic man, zero manliness and she's like omg you're manly and brave, smfh soyboys are considered alpha in this verse

Such a nice anime and it took a nosedive with this episode.

First by baiting the audience with Sasaki's health condition, which could have really helped move the story forward in a mature way.

Then there was the whole flashback scene with an horrendous plot point: they've seen each other before, they've even talked before, but she doesn't remember him and he doesn't remember her. Like, really?

Perhaps the "girl falls in love with the protagonist for no reason" was the hook of the show after all. Or was the 46-year-old behaving like a teenager? I don't know anymore.

The flashback really hit home their age gap… he’s in his mid thirties while she’s 16…

Of course, nothing hits harder than that one infamous panel, showing her as a baby in diapers while he’s in university.

Love me some hot girl with daddy issues! 😋

In a hindsight, this single episode SLAUGHTERED entire series progression for me. I mean I get why those plot twists are popular but it doesn't mean they are good here especially with the HARD SMOKING concerned. It's not the most stupid thing for romance, but it's such a blatant attempt for romantizing cigarettes of all things on top of that so early in the series too.

Another half and I'm out for good, and I'm pissed already. I get the girl is poor and can't afford to vape, but nah, it's because uncle was smoking cigs, she chose cigs too (this is so retro but its so out of place). Did I mention she stayed same low level job same place for 5+ years straight? XD and not a mention of exes..

On a much more meaningful side note, If we are going back to 08s can I get an anime about good effects of weed and acid, pretty please? At least Chainsmoker Cat did it right and the industry is saved once again, lols. But now compare their ratings against each other and understand that this industry can't be saved, oops.

@Kimurah Audience wants nice romance , your idea of "consequences" is puritan scary-mongering, "you can't show characters drinking, smoking, and having sex before marriage without consequences". Do you also think that Bocchi the Rock was bad because it didn't show consequences to Kikuri always getting drunk, or that Botan Kamiina is bad because main cast enjoys alcohol?

Then again, you apparently also think that age gap where the younger person is fully 24 fucking year old is somehow creepy, and that current Yamada is somehow "vulnerable", so you must be one of those zoomer puritans that feels attacked with "micro-aggression" whenever you see a character doing something you don't fully approve. And you are the one accusing others of wanting to see "nothing but an insipid" whatever, truly ironic.
@Bear_from_cave

You had to barf the word puritan twice in your worthless whataboutism verbal diahrrea. If you're older than 12 I just feel ashamed for both of us on your poor education and failure to make a proper retort that actually has something to stand on.

Hilariously bad argumentation to use one show to use as some benchmark against another one, but anyways, lets take the gloves off.
For starters Bocchi the rock was solid in it's writting (something that whatever hackjob who made this webcomic and his dumb brown noses fanboys don't know jack shit about). Bocchi sat mostly down to earth premises, loner girl who finally gets friends, becomes a moderately known member of a local band due to her honed skills, and after a short journey she's on the right path to be a part in society. On the other hand, Kikuri was there for comedic relief, she wasn't the main protagonist, she was a side character whose bad drinking habits were exposed as a negative all the time (people getting mad because she punched a wall, the audience feeling akward for her barfing on stage, and even Seika acting as the straight man in a comedic skit with her showing her the right path). Nothing about Kikuri's alcoholic behaviour is being romanticized to the audience, it always manages to make her look like a role not to follow. Quite the opposite in this scham of a cartoon called smoking behind the supermarket where consequences aren't a thing. Don't even get me started about Botan being some silly alcohol product placement for dumb weebs that are easy to impress with cheap yuri like a todler giggling at jiggling keys.

Third. You're saying that people want a nice romance. Which people? Anime audiences are incredibly varied and looking how very unpopular this show was, it makes me think this was some very niche forgettable show that won't last or be talked next season. Also people like romance shows with consequences, Your lie in April, I want to eat your pancreas, A silent voice, all of them and many more have character progression and consequences for the cast and are infinitely more known than this series from the dollar store that couldn't even get a streaming schedule right. If your point goes that I should bend over to the whims of a small karen group that don't like to hear negative things about their cartoons, boy you should go out more often and learn how the world works.

Fourth and last, they did meet when she was still a highschooler and he was what in his late to early 30s, he's around twice her age. It would have been nothing if they actually meet for the first time as in episode 1 with Yamada in her twenties and Sasaki in his 40s, the way it is it feels like the author tries to test the waters on grooming by making Yamada feel like Sasaki is some role to follow. It's already bad that they have no actual interests in common other than the smoking advertising and making them look cool because idiots are easy to fool and rope in to product placement. Ask anyone who is not brainwashed by dumb anime logic and more likely than not they will also feel at least some discomfort because of the age gap. It has nothing to do with generational crap as you try to defend in your piss poor rethoric that might as well is just as bad as current republican gaslighting reports.

Oof this episode hit a bit close to home with this one. Worked at a call centre previously and had customers like that and the awful feeling of not being able to say anything back is really shown here. Its why I avoid customer service jobs like the plague now cause people suck lol.

Glad to see Sasaki helped her in the past. I thought that might have been the reason she was interested in him initially but doesnt seem to be the case.

Well I caved and watched the early released episodes so now Im gonna have to wait ages until new content.

Refuse to believe that smoking that much hasn't affected Sasaki's lungs, even though I know it's anime and fictional...he should at least have some damage to show some harmful effects of smoking to the audience. Yet that could just ruin the whole show if that was the case, so Imma shut up about that.

Instead kinda cool to get a flashback of when Sasaki and Yamada first properly interacted, even if they both don't know it. Kinda crazy how tall Sasaki is, was kinda giving off stick Toji vibes.

I can't wait for the rest of the season to drop (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

In this episode, we see one of the lowest forms of human garbage there is: trash that yells at customer-facing service when they have power over them and are trapped facing their abuse.

@EscapismToTheMax folks stay in jobs like that for all manner of reasons. I have numerous friends in similar jobs. Good smart folks, and they’re in those roles for one reason or another. Doesn’t change the fact they’re my friends.

Sometimes people also just like client-facing roles because they enjoy doing a good job for others. It’s a satisfying feeling. When I’ve worked in high-end sales (managing art galleries), I treated selling a $1,200 work of art the same as $150,000, because it’s nice to see get the whole thing sorted.

Judging someone for working in an entry-level role just demonstrates poor character.

Not a fan of cheap, cliché moments like: "about to confess but got interrupted" and "possible cancer diagnosis but turns out he's healthy (mistake by hospital)". Also, she falls in love with a guy showing basic human decency. Ironic how she doesn't know the guy was Sasaki. It'll be fun to see their reactions whenever they realize.

I ain't hating this show, but didn't really like how this episode unfolded, that's basically it.

Im writing my review for the first half of the season/anime here... But oh my gosh I am so glad I stopped putting this off this was one of the best, most amazing romance + comedy animes I have EVER seen. Somehow, every side story is filled with flirting and romance in an interesting new way despite being the same three settings. I was also suprised to see how some parts of the story are similar to the backstories of fragrant flowers as well, including the nice sasuki helping yamada during her part time when she first jioned, liked how Rintaro showed compassion which efventually lead them to fall for the other person. While it can be infurating at some times, I like how dense our MC is where Yamada (or Tayama) can continue messing around with him and playing this love game. Personally prefer deredere version. But so far 10/10 definitely one of the best I have seen

Does that mean Yamada has been working at the store since she was 16?? That also means they've known each other for 8 years now!! I was worried it was gonna have a grooming spin oon it but thankfully the ashtray was moved. Yamada, he's still smoking cigs right next to you! I'm surprised she hasn't realized it yet (same with Sasaki)

Can't help but crack up at how the "smoking is cool" show really went ahead and stopped its protagonist from quitting at the last minute. Yamada getting all grumpy-relieved on Sasaki was beyond adorable to watch in real time though.

She did say she doesn't remember his face and Sasaki finding out the truth about Tamaya would probably still have a bigger freakout but I still need to see how Yamada noticing him with his bangs down and looking oddly familiar.

Sasaki's health checkup was coming and he was worried about it. Then one day, he came to Tayama and told he had to quit smoking. She was actually depressed. Because she wouldn't be able to spend time with him. The chief told her to tell Sasaki the truth. She was able to tell the truth but a phone call interrupted. It said Sasaki's organs were good. Really? After this much smoking? Tayama was happy and now Sasaki would be able to spend time with her. But still smoking is a bad habit.

We got to see 16 years old Yamada. She was having a problem with a customer. I don't understand why the others didn't not stand against that customer for abuse. Sasaki stepped in and helped Yamada. He cry was unexpected. Her heart moved when she heard that Sasaki knew her efforts and appreciated it. But now, she doesn't know it was Sasaki. I think Sasaki also doesn't know it was Yamada. But Sasaki's appearance is the same. One has vision problem and the other has memory problem.
