| Man, they're really putting the work on Beryl's shoulders. Not surprising though given his experience. This episode pretty much returns with the usual cast and Beryl having to balance his life. There's more scenes in the classroom than outdoors this time, especially at the academy. I imagine this season will have more training and story content there? Who knows. I'm not that impressed by the start yet but this is still pretty much the same vibes as the previous season. |

| The old man Beryl Gardenant is back, and the promient swordsman now finds himself teaching a class after the recommendation of one of his students. Think of Tensei Slime's class segments, but in a more mellow kind of way for a start to get the students slowly into their desired state of swordsmanship. This is a proud moment for Ficelle introducing her master, but it's her sparring with Beryl that shows her improvement. Behind the scenes though, the meetings between Mewi, Ficelle and Lucy are just as prevalent for time to come. Both Unicorns's OP and Blue Encount's ED are just alright, though I prefer Season 1's OST together. A decent return to Uncle Swordmaster and the never-ending admiration of his female students to him. |

The animation was a bit odd, which doesn't bother me too much, but I know many will lose their heads. I miss the OP song of the first season. It was GLORIOUS. But I know the current OP and ED will grow on me as I watch the episodes. Today was a Ficelle episode. And she can sword fight with magic. Still, the old man Beryl knows way more. Ficelle at teaching, though? Yikes 🤣 |

| For the first time, Ficelle takes center stage and I must say she's a bit more of a goof than I remembered haha, it was fun to see. We also got some cute Mewi/Beryl moments and Beryl gaining new students. A strong start to the new season :) |
| I’m probably the only fan of this show on here, but one season 2 I am sat af for is From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman. I thought season 1 was criminally underrated and I love how Beryl is a father/mentor figure to young girls instead of the usual harem nonsense. The fact he actually acts like an older man too instead of just a big ass kid is also dope. Starting this season off with some great action, still not a fan of the CGI, but it is what it is. I’m looking forward to his character development as he embraces an official sword magic teaching position and grows as a swordsman himself. Seems like there’ll be much more emphasis on Beryl’s development this season. I’m especially excited to see he and Mewi become even more of a father daughter duo, like I love how he had to ask her if she was ok with him taking the job first and everything because he knows she’s shy and won’t say how she feels 🥲 he’s such a good dad |

| Back already and is it me or the visuals look a bit better or cleaner than last season. Specially on the character designs. Otherwise it was fun to have more Ficelle. She's adorable and amusing, always like her type of character. Also Beryl taking on a new role already. He gotta keep changing or more like adapting huh. |

| Just started my 18th Summer 2026 anime! 🙌🏻 We are so back after a year since Spring 2025! Used to be a Saturday anime and now has changed to a Wednesday anime 🥲 gonna watch more of Beryl and his harem! 🤣🙌🏻 Beryl is voiced by Hirata Hiroaki! He has a very distinct middle aged man voice 🤣after watching this anime last Spring, I watched an old anime from 2018 called Love After the Rain and the manager in that anime had the EXACT same freaking voice as Beryl here and it hit me 🤣 so I know his voice by heart now. 0:30 Henblitz here is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa! I forgot about that 🤣 but I recognized his voice instantly. Naofumi from Shield Hero. 0:48 and Allucia here is voiced by Nao Touyama! I just heard her voice 20 minutes ago watching Level 999 Villager as Alice 🤣I get to hear her voice two times on Wednesdays this season! 🙌🏻 she’s the most crazy for Beryl 🤭 I miss season 1’s OP and ED 🥲 I sang along to BOTH last season never skipping either. Very rare. ED was sung by FLOW 🔥 I love the Japanese name of this anime. “Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru” 🔥 Mewi so cute 🤭tsundere 16:50 Beryl took her down! 😯 still got it  |
| just as good as the first season. i can't see any improvements or problems. :) other than the knucklehead that recorded the English dub ep file i watched on a 'free site' kept the kanji/Japanese subtitles turned on. so hard encoded subs were on the whole time. irritating, but not terribly distracting. :/ |

| @LaczPro19 things change just a tiny subtle bit when the swordplay comes up. this was exactly like S1. the character designs are 'shifted' into a different animation toolset which uses MOCAP and real people choreographed by the fight coordinator. this 'shift' causes a few minor color differences with shading, texturing, and skin-tones. you basically have to hit pause at JUST the right frame(s) to see the 'shift' from walking/talking/storytelling toolsets, into the swordfighting MOCAP toolsets. |

She is the oldest of the people interested in Beryl, she already manages the household finances (somewhat, it is her house they are living in if I remember correctly), she also knows what makes him tick and how she can push him to improve further and not give up on himself due to age. Mewi is going to a monster with these two as parents. (Also, it would take the wind out of all his former students thirsting for him and making stuff weird.) |

Lucy is a very wise teacher. The best teachers are always learning. Nice to see Beryl teaching Ficelle how to teach. I think we should expect to see him level up as well with what transpired in this episode. Good return to the old man's world! |

| Once again I'm surprised about the animation quality in this show. I can see when it switches to CGI, but I don't care because it still looks really good. I still think the characters are really fun to watch as well, was a nice start to the season. |

| @LaczPro19 nope sorry but you're wrong. i just finished a re-watch of S1 in Edub the day before S2Ep1 came out and it is 100% exactly the same. there are zero differences. if you're noticing the 'two animation toolsets differences' more now? it is because you're ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR THEM instead of just 'experiencing the show' for the first time. sure, there are jarring moments that make you pause and wonder, 'what just happened? stuff is different!' but if you weren't AS AWARE of it consciously? you'd gloss over the vast majority of those moments quite easily. |

| It's great to see this show back as I was a big fan of the first season. The duel between Beryl and Ficelle was choreographed really good and I think it pushed Beryl to do whatever was necessary to ensure that he would win as he wanted to impress Mewi. Speaking of her, she's a cute tsundere that really admires Beryl but is too embarrassed to admit it. 😅 |
| We are so back! I watched S1 before I had a MAL account, now I can share my thoughts this time. Blocking a spell with a wooden sword is crazy. Now he is gonna teach sword magic without ability to use magic but he'll teach swordsmenship, not magic. Mewi is clearly embarrassed that Beryl found out the reason why she joined the course and is gonna see her at school, she ain't emotionally ready lol Still in denial of his strength I see, that'll never change XDDD That was a great spar, nice to see Ficelle using sword magic, Beryl in daddy mode is unstoppable. Love Mewis and Beryls daughter father relationship. Pretty old to get stronger, bruh you are like the strongest swordsman on the continent |

| Cool S2! I love to watch more of Ficelle's figure, because her outfit is normally lovely and attractive, than Allucia and Serena's too skimpy of an outfit. Besides, It would've been nice if they have different clothes later instead of using the same ones... The 3D is expected to be THAT, but it is still fluid nonetheless when it comes to battles. Miwa's cuteness when she gets embarrassed because of Beryl wasn't bad. The ending bit of "those who bear the title has to bear the change that comes with it", or so Lucy said in her own words. Truly worthwhile. I'll be tuning in, as I was not expecting myself to get a late head start... lmao P.S. I don't know why but I'd rather have the Opening song and Ending song to be switched, literally, when it comes to music. I was really expecting for the OP to be more, but it's rather bland than the ED. (Prob because I don't understand the language and was expecting a subtitle...) |

| I had completely forgotten that the second season of this show was released this season and both upset I haven't watched it yet, but keen to binge it q(≧▽≦q) Seems like Beryl is still teaching, even at a magic school now?!? Wouldn't be a fantasy show without a magic school arc...for our magicless sword master to teach at. Altought it seems like everyone enjoyed his teachings. But pretty much just the same vibes as the last season, so nice chill show most of the times with some good swordsmanship and sword battles. The animation also looks the same so no complaints really, just picking up where we left off half a year ago really. |
