@KiliianSleipnir I just so happen to have standards and critical thinking skills. Someone who has watched almost 2k anime is probably has too much free time. And where was I ethnocentric? Japanese men are a majority in anime creation and most series have pedo sexualization happening constantly, even when the story and worldbuilding are well writen. Sometimes even woman creators have to add that kind of fanservice to survive in the industry

@KiliianSleipnir people can't seem to help but insert themselves into shows, and also bring along their own sensibilities. Can't just leave it as a story and think "ya know, in a world with a wildly inferior level of technology, a nomadic tribe that struggles to survive while also hiding from their enemies may just have a different culture or views on certain things than I do."

Like the whole point of fantasy is that it isn't real. So go wild with it, you're not actually hurting anyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Oni society seems to be matriarchal and given the context of the rough living conditions it seems the only thing that society sees in men is strength and work ethic, which is kind of a fun reversal, and that the guy with a brain filled with bricks, that is basically all muscle and hard work, fits perfectly into their definition of a perfect husband is hilarious.

Will be interesting to see if he actually manages to get a village of misfits going, given the land seems to be quite resourceful of simple resources for simple living.

MOST Americans spend upwards of 12 HOURS a day watching TV. that's just live TV like cable or satellite or broadcast, not streaming smart TVs. i spend 0 on TV, i watch everything on my PC. i stream 80% of my entertainment there. i actually spend 6-8 hours a day entertaining myself, the rest of my day i sleep and work and take care of myself.

when did you get started watching anime??? I got started in 1990. THAT is how i got over OVER 2k titles. my MAL isn't perfect, it doesn't list everything.

got a college degree? i got two. an AS and a BS, and they weren't in underwater basketweaving.

got a 10+ year career under your belt? i've had two.

But also the crazy amound of unclear aged female characters dating male ones who look older, just like this one. I dont to pretend to know an entire number of workforce to be able to see things. The age gap is bothersome to say the least, so seeing them with two kids in the outro was quite disturbing. Honestly, she looks like a kid and the guy looks to be in his 30s. The constant masculinity affirmations seem really dated and annoying and the main female character immediately needing to be protected like she doesn't have the ability to literally disappear just plays into the good ol' stupid gender roles.
I really liked the concept of the relationship between him and the natives, but I sadly won't be watching this anymore

the outro, since you didn't watch further into the show wasn't exactly obvious with the relationship between him, his 'wife', and the two little kids. once again you dumped it too early to learn what was really going on there.
