I strongly suspect this is by the author of Gantz, or that someone was inspired by Gantz. All I had to do was take a look at the manga, and I immediately recognized his drawing style. Just the team-up and the fight against aliens strongly remind me of Gantz, which followed a similar premise—except there was a sphere called Gantz that gave them orders, and the guys were drooling over pretty women—and what’s more, they were even having sex with them. Only now, for a change, it’s family-friendly. My biggest disappointment, of course, is the 3D animation, but what can you expect from a Netflix ... collaboration? The plot itself is boring in places.
