Explicitly Cannon Couples and Hard Subtext Shows. Subtext shows listed here have substantial content and not just a little bit of teasing here and there. Subtext can also be an unspoken focal point of the series. These are shows I can actually recommend and like enough to suggest checking out.

What this list is:

A tracker for new anime IPs that have not yet aired.

This includes original anime and first-time adaptations of works that have never been adapted into anime. Sequels, prequels, spin-offs, remakes, and reboots are excluded.

What it’s for:

Tracking upcoming anime with the strongest potential for exceptional production quality.


Inclusion criteria:

A title must meet at least one of the following:

1. Top-tier production: A confirmed top-tier studio or production team with a consistently strong track record. Studios with several distinct production lines may require additional project-specific staff or footage before qualifying.

2. Exceptional footage: Genuine production footage that is clearly exceptional in animation, direction, character acting, cinematography, or overall craft, regardless of the studio involved.

3. Exceptional staff: A proven director, animation producer, or exceptional core team gives the project strong production potential, even without substantial footage. Individual character designers or animators are normally only supporting evidence.

4. Elite project signals: The source is among the most popular and highly rated in its medium, and credible reporting or strong production indicators point toward a top-tier studio or team.

Strong source material, popularity, an attractive key visual, or a major production company alone is not enough.

Manga-panel teasers, concept videos, and separately produced promotional animation do not count as genuine production footage, though they may count as supporting evidence.


Removal criteria:

Television and streaming anime are removed once all episodes have aired.

Films are removed once their wide theatrical rollout has begun. Festival screenings, advance screenings, and single-theater or limited openings do not count.
